CSA Called - they can finally start my case!

So after 5 weeks CSA called today to say that they finally have my child benefit number and will kick start my claim today.

Apparently as I have provided tons of details they will call him in the first instance rather than write to him - did find that a bit weird but hey at least they are now doing something

I asked them once again to confirm the back dating position and they said that it will only be back dated once he accepts parentage. I think this is crap but nothing I can do

Just glad that the ball is finally rolling now

Let see how long it now takes for them to get in touch with him - keeping a calendar to see

Wow congrats, when did you get your CB through, im still waiting for mine, i need mine for my HB and CSA, its been 3 weeks now for me!!!
But leasts its getting it going, just crap about thaqt though, cos if it takes weeks to do a dna and etc that can be weeks so there getting out of paying!!! grrrrrrrrr makes me so mad!!!! xxx

tinks i dont have it through to me yet. Apparently the CSA have access to the CB computer so the lovely (and I actually do mean that) lady at CSA has been checking their system for me every day to get Lily's number to stop shutting my case down. Apparently she could only have kept my case open for one week without the number and I would have to re-apply so she took it on her own back to log into the CB computer every day. They have the number now. I have never received any communication from the CB people at all yet. It took only a week for Lily CB number to appear on their computer.

I will call them tomorrow then and the CB people, as they sent hollie's birth cert back last week, really so will i have to reaply again?! xxx

Ive not even had my birth certificate back yet!

All I knwo is the woman at CSA told me last week she couldnt keep my details on the system any longer than a week without the number and that they would close the case and I would need to reapply again.

Call them tomorrow and say that you dont have the CB number yet but you do have Hollie birth certificate back and can they check on the CB system for her number. If they say they cant do that I am happy for you to say that you know its been done

Im just so glad as I couldnt bear to have reapplied for a bloody 3rd time!

Good news but ...after 10 yrs of dealing with the CSA I will tell u take no crap ring them weekly till its sorted and dont be fobbed off they owe me 2000 that ex paid and they paid to government by mistake and ive been fighting since march to get it back

my friends had to go down this route with both her boys dads.
her youngest they had to do dna which came bk that he was the dad, its taken ages for her claim to go thru, all to gt £5 a wk for one son n £2.50 a wk for the other. neither ov the dads c the kids there nt bothered dont even send cards or ought.
i reall think its a kick in the teeth to gt that much.
i think if there man enuf to make babies they shud pay for em.

It's not easy Hun but u did the hardest bit getting through this far. In a few weeks time I will be thrown back into working beside mine. Every single day sitting next to the man who wants nothing to do with his own child

We just dont say a word to each other at all thats how we deal with it - we dont even pretend that we know each other let alone lived together for years and had a child together. I need to go to court as well with him on other financial stuff so I will need to work with him one day, face him in court the next lol!

I figure for him its more uncomfortable, I mean everyone at work hates him, hes lost all his work friends, and I have nothing to be ashamed off Im bringing up this wonderful little girl so for me I jsut go in there, working it and rub his bloody face in it. One day he will get the message and leave

Yeah he will probably find it like that, but then again men dont always think, just dont let him push you out of your job, you've been so strong and i think your amazing i really do, with everything that has gone on and is going on and then your going to be working along side him aswell, i dont think i would be able to do that, keep going chick your brilliant xxx

was thinking about contacting the CSA i just dont think men should be able to get away with making babies and ignoring them . what details and stuff would i need for it ??

As far as i know you only need their name ( my friend got hers sorted with only giving name, phone number and carreer but not place of work )
The more info you have the better.... but it can be done with less.
