Hi there. I had my first son via c-section due to breech presentation. Luckily this second pregnancy has been better and baby is in the head down position. My consultant has given me the go ahead for my VBAC. Yippeee :) But I was just wondering what the process was for if I go overdue. As many mummys that have had c-sections have told me they only let you go so far overdue and then they will do a c-section rather than induce labour. Is this true? Trying to prepare myself for every eventuality as its my due date in 11 days. Thankyou in advance <3

I was told if I decided for a VBAC that the most they would allow me to go over is 10 days. And that they wouldn't induce as that increases the risk of your scar tearing.

Good luck!

I was told that if I didn't go into labor by 41 weeks they would like to schedule my section. They did sweeps from 37 weeks just to encourage labor because they wouldn't induce. I went into labor naturally at 39+5, had baby at 39+6

Depends on your hospital. Here in Southampton they let you go overdue normal amount of time being 12 days. Then it's up to you and consultant weighing up the risks. I was 2-3cm at my appointment to discuss going overdue. I was 40+5. Decided that I would go in at 41 weeks to break my waters as I was measuring big. Baby decided he wasn't having that and I had him 40+6 just 7 hours before I was due to be induced! Lol. Quick labour and pushed him out myself. I was told breaking your waters does not increase your risk of rupture. They will use the drip with caution. All up to the hospital policies
