Yes indeed... Mainly because the only set I can find is $774 and that's a bit excessive I think!

So I was frustrated and about to give up and register for something I hated when I had a brilliant idea... MIL is a great seamstress, and she's already making a quilt for baby, why not have her make the cribskirt and bumper pads as well?

So I started searching for patterns and you wouldnt believe how many sites I found! So Now I"m itching to buy a crib so we can get started on making the bedding! So now I get my not pink, not baby blue, not green set, It will be Navy and white dots or stripes or some pattern I like (to stimulate baby's brain b/c they can see the contrast) and Yellow :)

SOOO HAPPY :happydance:

Anyone else attempting this?

You should post some of the better sites you found. Our crib is irregularly shaped (DH's grandpa made it) and I'm having one heck of a time finding stuff to fit. I've been pretty convinced I'll have to make my own stuff for it, and have been too intimidated to even try looking around. :S

Im making a baby quilt but not having bumper pads or skirt on mine. x

I'm not personally doing this, but my mum did make a quilt and bumper set for my sister years ago when she had her babies. She's also made cot sheets which were used by my SIL for her little girls which I now have and they are still in wonderful condition.

I do have a friend who is having a Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt made for me as a gift, this will be single kids bed size though for when my little boy is older.

It's a great idea!

These are the sites I thought looked pretty straight forward.... But I am not a seamstress lol.

I haven't been able to find hardly any bedding that I like. Navy with polka dots sounds lovely! xo

here's my favorite DIY ... https://sew4home.com/projects/bed-linens/907-citron-a-gray-nursery-4 there are other tutorials for this nursery bedding set (sheets, bumper, comforter) but you will have to search it up in that website (keyword: citron nursery )

I was admiring a Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt on ebay this morning that was handmade :O if its that one its gorgeous.

I think I will probably go down the same route. I am yet to see a bedding set I actually like, let alone one I am willing to have in my house! LOL

Sounds like a fun project too as I wanted to start sewing again!

What about something like this set? With a yellow blanket?

mad_but_glad I did find that set, and I really like it, but I think MIL could make one I like just as much for much much cheaper, $400 is still pretty steep for my budget

I agree the prices are a little much! Ill let you know if i see anymore for cheaper!

your welcome :) a custom made set would be nice but I would be too impatient to wait lol.

Hmm not sure if this works for you but I love how bright it is!

I couldn't find anything I liked for my first. I ended up making a quilt and crib skirt - We didn't use the bumpers.

MadButGlad - those are cute and up my alley, but a bit more boyish than I like... I'm really stuck on the navy and yellow (which also sounds a bit boyish, but i have my mind set it's neutral lol)

Haha navy and yellow could deffinitly work for both :) I agree the last was pretty boyish but so cute so I figured I would show you!
