And it was a chromosomal problem. Baby had 3 pairs instead of two. So that is good news in a way, as that is the most common cause of MC. And it means that we are compatoable as a couple, so I am very pleased with the results, even though I woiuld give anything to have my baby back!!!

Off for my post Operation Check up today. And I feel like this is the end of a chapter, although I will never forget it, its officially time to start watching my CM etc again and get back on with the TTC.

Well I cant say I am happy to hear this but yet at the same time it is good news... I hope your new ttc journey is a short one :hugs:

I found out the same news today. An extra chromosome. #13. I'm actually relieved!

Hi ladies. I'm new to this board. I lost my 1st angel in Jan due to T21 (down syndrome) and heart failure. I lost my 2nd angel May 11 and just found out my test results from my LO last Thursday and they said it was T22 which is non viable. Apparently, he wouldn't have made it past the 1st trimester.
I, personally, am a little worried as this is my 2nd loss due to a chromosomal abnormality. I already am blessed with a healthy 4 yr old DS. My dr has suggested genetic testing for my DH & I.
TraceC- were you told what exactly your LO had, if you don't mind me asking?

Hi TraceC,
I had a blighted ovum and ended up in a D&C too. due to chromosomal problems..

How long will you wait to ttc again?

Hi Ladies

Can I just ask how come you all had your babies tested after mc? They didn't seem to do anything with mine, although embryo was only about 5-6 weeks big.

Thanks girls x

Its still so sad isnt it, but it is good I guess that its not a problem with you being able to carry a baby. I honestly thought that they probably just assume that miscarriages are due to chromosome problems but this actually makes you realise that theres truth in it. I had my D&C last week but they didnt test the tissue, said its not common practice in the UK after 2 miscarriages, i just really wish I knew what went wrong. Good luck for ttc x

They automatically tested my baby, maybe cause I am in Private Cover? It was covered in the coast. No my Dr didn't tell me the exact specifics, just that it was a common reason for MC, thats all I need to know, I don't mind not know the exact specifics. We are already TTC, I had my Check up with Dr yesterday and I had a complaint about this annoying twinge pain I felt on my left side, he said it sounds like I'm gearing up for O, so will be doing the BD today :) He also wasn't concerned about us TTC staight away, said it was a personal prefernce. I love and miss my Angel and another baby won't take its place in my heart, but will have its only place too. I've had to wait many years to TTC for certain reasons with my DH not being here. So this is the time in my life where I'm gunna keep going till I get what I want and deserve!

Wishing all you lovely ladies loads of sticky baby dust. And lets keeping believing and NEVER give up xx

it is still very sad, but i'm sure there is some relief to know what caused you to lose your baby and to know that it probably won't affect your future pregnancies :hugs:

So sorry for all your losses, all 3 of my MC's were most likely down to a chromosome issue and in a way as sad as it is to lose your baby i would rather that then watch them suffer later on. Here's hoping all our next little beans are healthy ones xxx :hugs:

I think it has a lot to do with where you are and what kind of medical coverage you have.

In Canada we have a universal healthcare system, so pretty much everything is covered. I was told that they would do the testing because I am diagnosed as infertile, so they automatically do the testing even though it was my first documented mc. All in all I didn't pay a thing for any of it.

I've read that in the US you have to request and pay for the embryo testing...and that it costs $200+ extra...and that some people have insurance that will cover a portion of that cost.

I don't know how it works in the UK or other countries...but I think if it's not something that is normally covered, you have to request it.

The doc told me that my babies would be tested but they didn't do it. I am sorry for your loss but am glad to hear you have an explanation.

You definitely deserve a healthy baby. FXed for you!

How long did your results take? I had my D&C last Friday, and I want so badly to know what caused it. They said they would test to see if it was a boy or girl for me also. I can't stand the waiting.

I haven't got the results yet. They said it could take up to 8 weeks. I had my d&c 2 weeks ago today, so I am very impatiently waiting. I really want to know what the cause was before we start ttc again. The waiting is agonizing.

How far along were you? My babies quit growing at 9.5 and they told me they were too small to tell the sex. (Just wondering if that is true)

I lost my 2nd twin at 14 weeks. The midwife took samples and sent it off as the drs weren't going to bother doing anything. The tests came back that the baby was perfectly healthy so they are guessing that it was the flu I had at the time that killed them. They couldn't get the tissue to grow enough to tell what the sex was so I don't know what serx any of my babies were.

Hi again, the testing for my first angel (I was 13.5wks) was done after the NT Scan. The nuchal fold measurement was too big and the heart was struggling so I was immediately referred to a specialist. They performed a CVS and concluded it was T21 and heart failure (it was a girl). For my 2nd angel (I was 9 wks), my dr assumed his little heart had stopped beating just a few days before. My dr sent his tissue away to get tested for chromosomal abnormalities. When I went in for my follow up, is when I found out he had passed away from T22 and also that it was a boy.
Good luck ladies! :hugs:

Hello Ladies,

So sorry for everyone's loss. I loss my angel at just 6 weeks. Stopped growing and evetually the little heart stopped beating. My OBGYN said no testing could be done unless I had 2-3 MC's which I definitely don't want to experience. This being my first MC was shocking because I have a 9 year old son. I'm 39 and my 40th birthday will be this July 25th. I'm currently doing a detox (Mastercleanse Diet) just to clear my body of toxins and reset balance to my body. My DH and I want to start trying again in a couple of months. I ordered fertility vitamins for both him and I. We said good bye to our little angel on May 25th and my D&C procedure was June 1st. I first tried cytotek but it didn't work and I didn't want to go through the pain of having the remains continue to be in me.

I wish success to everyone. I feel everyone's pain and understand what you're going through. Every pregnant woman I see in public and on television just brings sadness to my heart. I wish I knew what happened to my little angel, but I guess I'm only left to assume chromosome abnorminality. The gestational sac and yolk sac was abnormal as well.
