Hi just had my day 21 progestrone test done this afternoon 6dpo though cos the surgery dont do tests on a weekend :( i have to ring wed for the results but was just wondering what the number has to be to mean ovulation has occured just so i kinda know whats happening when i ask for my results.

Thanks girls xxxx

I think they are looking for progesterone to be in the range of 10-80. if its in that band then they can assume you've ovulated (although i think they like it to be in the higher part of the range) if its lower than that then they assume you didnt ovulate that cycle.

This is what happened with me anyway. I had progesterone levels of 1.5 so definatly didnt but not sure what they would've said if it was 10 IYKWIM.

hope that helps :)

Hi :hi: I just had CD 21 tests done today as well. Good Luck to you!!

:dust:

My result was 11 and my gp said this wasn't good, this result pretty much suggests that I didn't ovulate. I'm going back on Monday for another and fingers crossed I get a better result this time.

Good luck

my was eastrogen they were checking, the first mth was 7dpo and was fine, the 2nd mth they did it on 4dpo (even tho i told them ,they said it be fine) but it werent , they said i didnt O !! but i did as i fell pg that mth, so try and get as near to 7dpo as poss ladies, dont matter it been cd21, just 7dpo, i worry thinking if i hadnt of got pg that mth i wuda been on meds for no reason :?

goodluck

hmm.....i had two cd21 test results that came back as 1 and 1.5 on the actual cd21 of my 40+ day cycle. Then I had another cd21 test at cd31 and it came back as 95! The fertility nurse told me that meant I produced a really good qulity egg that month.....she knew this info and i've still been prescribed clomid for 6 months! Not sure why they bothered doing the test! I therefore now dont think that ovulation was a reason and it could be that my OH sperm is 3% motile so clomid might not help (except for help regulate my cycle) and fingers crossed I will then be offered IUI next and that may do the trick!!!! Thats what I keep telling myself that I have to see myself through the stages..........

trying4ever, oh gosh im so sorry you are going thru all of this, at least clomid might help to regulate things i guess! Myoh has his SA on monday so we will see what that comes bk as. xx

I was going to post a question similar to this! It was my first round of clomid this month which I started mid cycle. on day 21 after taking it I had bloodwork done and it came back 67. I was going to ask what that meant exactly and was it good?

I was told anything over 30 confirms ovulation between 15-30 is possible ovulation and under 15 probably not ovulate, hope that helps. Good luck. XXX

I tested a 9 the month I got pregnant with my daughter...all hope is not lost. I too was told I didn't ovulate, which clearly, I did. Did he say anything about progesterone or Clomid?

Here is a chart I found on the net and it matches up to what my doctor said.
Good luck, FX you ovulated on your own.

I had my day 21 back this week and it was 69 which the nurse said was very good. As said above, anything over 30 is considered ovulation.

A word of caution with this - a friend told me that the way progesterone is measured in the US and UK differ which means there are different numbers to look out for -just thought it was worth a mention!

I just had them done again yesterday but I have been charting and temping so I went in on 7dpo, CD24. I'm sure I O'd due to the temping. He referred me to the fertility specialist after last months result though as we have been trying for 18 months+ and the appointment has come through for April 1. At least if I get a good result this time I've not wasted any time checking for O, we can move straight to the next test hopefully.

I had a 21 day cycle test for ovulation in Jan (I live in the UK). The doc said a result of above 30 was satisfactory to indicate ovulation. He didn't tell me what my exact measurement was just it was above 30 and satisfactory. I have tempted for 6 months and from my chart I did think that I ovulated. My DH gets his sperm results next week too so I may get to chat to the doc more about my and his results soon and could find out more about exact measurements.

I am really confused. My menstrual started on January 17. I started clomid on days 5-9. I started using OPKS on CD 11-28. It wasn't until CD 23, 24, 25 I got postive OPK's, three in a row, with FMU. I'm quessing that I ovulated late, because my levels of estradiol on CD 18 was 160 and on CD 25 my estradiol levels shooted to 485, but my progesterone level was at 1.60. So, I waited 7dpo to retest, because usually progesterone level rises a week after ovulation, and it did. On CD32 my progesterone level is at 13.80 ng/ml. I must of ovulated on CD 23-25 and these levels confermed I did. Since I had a missed period I tested for HCG, but it was negative on day 32 and then, I used a cheap HPT yesterday and showed up negative. I am on Cd 35 and no period. I am guessing that if I ovulated late, my period is going to arrive late, but I am confused. Should I retest HCG blood test again in a couple days?
