Here in Canada this awful thing occurs this weekend. I like baby falling asleep relatively easy at around 9pm, that time just works, it is far enough away from his evening nap that getting him to sleep isn't a fight. He is 3.5 months.

Come Sunday because of the time change I am afraid his bedtime will be 10pm which is too late. How does everyone deal with the time change?

With daughter who is almost 3 now, I never did anything different. When the time changes, she still goes to bed at 8. We've never had any problems not adjusting her bedtime to account for the change. We'll see how it goes this year :)

I've done the same as this, just adopt the new time and run with it. May be a bit unsettled for 24 hours but never normally longer than that

Thanks everyone. We will try and keep it the same. Think it is going to be really hard this year though. Starting to have problems putting him to bed as he would rather roll and stay awake.

Re the rolling have you left him for 5 minutes to do that?

DS2 quite likes having a roll around his cot before finally settling down for sleep, I figure it's just his way of getting comfy!

I'll leave him for 5-10 mins with music & light show then go back in and settle him down by rubbing his back for a few minutes, he started with this around 4 months and still likes it now at 7 months. If I try and settle him without the 5/10mins rolling he gets really annoyed with me!

We've always just kept bedtime the same. It can sometimes mean things are a bit disrupted for a few days to a week, but then it all settles down again and has been fine. I feel like that's easier than trying to tinker with things before you know there will be a problem. It could be it makes no difference anyway or everything is back to normal after the first night.

We let him roll before bed, but he goes down in his crib asleep. Me and OH have to rock him to get him there.

It takes a couple hours before he stops waking up to roll and then he may or may not sleep for a few hours until he wakes to roll again.

Last night he was up at 4pm on his tummy, needed to eat. He was then up at 5:00, 5:30 and 6:30 on his tummy each time. Unfortunately I can't just rub his back to get him back to sleep. I have to pick him up and rock him back, at least he goes back to sleep easily that way, but I can't always put him down right away.

He used to wake up usually just once, so his frequent wake ups are a hard adjustment. I really hope he will get bored of rolling, it's like an addiction.
