I know everyones different and every labour is different too etc, but I am just curious to see how people felt the couple of days before their labour started.

For me I have been having cramps and BH as well as lots of pressure, bowel issues (sorry tmi) for the last week or so. But I just dont "feel" like I am going to go into labour anytime soon......iykwim!!

Just wondering if labour seemed to take you by surprise or if you could tell it would be happening soon?

Will be stalking this as I would also like to know. I ended up being induced with my first, so have no experience of this xx

I felt fine the days before labor--uncomfortable and ginormous--but fine. The night I went into labor, I went to bed saying "I don't feel good" and "I feel sick". My OH asked me if I wanted to go to the hospital and I said no, that's ridiculous. About 3 hours later, I woke up, getting contractions less than 5 minutes apart and we were on our way to the hospital. I had no warning, I don't remember having them further apart and I don't remember losing my mucous plug or anything like that. The only thing I had the days before (TMI) was more bowel movements during the day.

Thanks dvc, it's all so confusing not knowing what's gonna happen when! Everyone keeps asking me if there's any signs yet and from what you have said for you there weren't really any signs that aren't normal for end of pregnancy anyway!

I would say that unless your water breaks, you never know when baby will come. I was scheduled for an induction 3 days after I went into labor and before I went into labor, I swore I would be pregnant until the day the doctors induced me and if I weren't getting an induction on my due date, I would go until they had to induce me. Obviously, I was wrong lol.

That's what I keep saying at the moment, I'm convinced I will have to be induced which won't be for another 18-20 days or so yet! I'm so sure of it!

I had mild cramps and diarrhea for about a week before going into labour, when my waters broke though I had no idea it was going to happen. It's hard not to keep trying to spot signs and symptoms when you are so close to the finishing point, but really going to try not to this time. xx

Yeah I am trying to ignore it all now coz I've had cramps, BH and loose bm's for a couple of weeks now and it's clearly not a sign of anything iminant lol!!

My LO was born on Saturday morning.

On the Friday morning I had a bloody show and that was when I wondered if something was starting to happen. Throughout the day I felt normal, then in the evening I started to get contractions, and at about 3am I knew it was 'it'.

So it was only the day before that I knew labour was imminent. The days beforehand I had no clue.

I lost my appetite before labour started... just for 1-2 days preceding labour.

I had no symptoms at all with ds...and am now 40 +1 and have had no symptoms! I have been having bh since 20 weeks, and period pains for the past month so don't think these mean anything. :(

Sorry I haven't better news! Xxx

oh baileybubs, i remember you from the mc forum last year this time, it is so so great to see you are here now!! wishing all the best to you and your little girl!

Thank you skyesmum, yeah how things have changed in a year, I don't think when I had my mc last year that I could have imagined this is where I'd be 12 months on! So happy and can't wait to meet my little girl, who looks like she is going to be fashionably late coz I have no signs of her arrival whatsoever lol!

I felt totally normal in the days leading up to my labour, i had no signs, niggles etc. On the day i gave birth i got up at about 5am as i'd been having trouble sleeping for the past few weeks and my contractions suddenly started at 6am and my son was born at 11:50am!

I had given up by then and had no symptoms at all haha.
Contractions just started out of no where and I was convinced it was false labour until I got the hospital and they checked me :L

I turned into a complete ditsy blonde the day I went into labour, I managed to put my iPhone through the washing machine (epic fail) and couldn't string a censtence together properly, my husband thought I was drunk! My. Waters went a 8:30pm and he was born thurs 1:28am and was two weeks early! I was only two days into my maternity leave and luckily I ad brought it forward a week early :)

I had no inkling with my first.
Looking back at my second, I felt 'weird' and kept making trips to the loo the night before I went into labour, but I didn't realise it at the time.

I'm currently 4 days overdue with our third and don't feel like I'm going to go into labour anytime soon :nope: so I'm hoping it just 'happens'

I had a lot more loose bowel movements in the week leading up. No other signs apart from with my first I had the overwhelming urge to go and have a nap, slept for two hours and then woke up having contractions. Second time I just felt so uncomfortable the night before, couldn't get comfy watching tv and just knew I had to get to bed and then woke early hours of the morning with contractions.

Cngratulations on your baby being born by the way! I'm already getting inpatient and analysing every twinge even though I always go overdue lol xx

Thanks kezziek, ironically after all the labour-sign spotting I ended up with high bp and being induced so didn't get any of the usual signs of labour anyway!
