DD lately has started to refuse her bottles. She takes a little a then we struggle to get her to have more. I did think it was that she was simply not hungry. But it happens on her first bottle of the morning after a 12 hour sleep. She used to down 7oz and would quite often ask for more. But today I have struggled for her to take 3oz.
I think she may be teething, would this affect the way she drinks?
Any ideas or advice?

Have you tried the next step up in teats? Maybe the flow isn't fast enough for her now and she is getting too tired and struggling to suck xx

I would also upgrade your teats. DD started to use 3+months teats when she was about 3 weeks old. Yep, she's that impatient:haha: Chances are the flow is too slow for her and she just gets fed up and tired even if she's still hungry:winkwink:

I did try the 3+ month teats last week but she coughed and spluttered with them as the flow was too fast. May try again.

Where do you feed her? Around that age my DD started to become more aware and we had to do feedings in her room, with dim lighting. I used to feed her in front of the TV and that became near impossible when she preferred to watch rather than eat!

What temperature is the formula. I found that kids can change to likening a particular temperature. For some kids it's like night and day when feeding luke warm and warm formula.

i went from slow to medium and it was wayyy too fast for my 3 month old. i dont know what kind of bottles you use but see if there is a tri-cut teat. i use playtex and they are marked as 0-6mths. the flow varies depending on how fast she sucks. it works a bit better!

Temperature of the formula was a big deal for my ds. He went from having room temperature and easy to make in the night, to wanting warm milk only. Once you work out what they want, it does get easier.

I can say this, as we're now out the other side and ds is dropping down to 3 bottles (7oz).

Good luck.

yes it could be teething. My lg is teething atm and really struggling with her bottles. How old is your LO? x

She is 3 and a half months. Definitely think it is her teeth now :( shesn't getting any better and is just starting to have a couple of formula bottles a day now which isn't going down well! :dohh:

Poor thing. Unless its wind? Or silent reflux? And she's in discomfort x
