dealing with guilt????

How do you deal with the guilt that your child doesnt have a father I got pregnant young (im 19) and he left me (hed be a terrible father and im not forcing him to be) Anyway i feel guilty because my son doesnt have a dad. I will be incollege for 4 years and i will NOT be dating for at least 4 years.

I also feel guilty about him being an only child

Am i stupid for feeling this way?

You're not stupid at all, in any way shape or form. It is really commendable that you are continuing your studies when so many other women in your position would have literally given up. I think, even though you say you are young, you are so wise already... you know the father is a waster and are still not forcing him into something he doesn't want to be, a lesson many of us are in the process of learning or coming to terms with.
I wouldn't feel guilty, you are a strong women who will love her baby no end and at the end of the day that is all that matters.

I also think it is fantastic you are continuing your studies. I also felt guilty about my baby not having his father living with us, he does see his dad regularly but this is not the life I had wanted for him. However, it was my husbands decision to wake up one morning and leave us without as much as talking to try and fix the relationship (I hadnt even known it was broken). He was the one who walked away, so I shouldn't really feel guilty. I will give my son the best life I possibly can. I will dry his tears, I will nurse him when he is sick, I will buy him nice things even when I cannot afford to buy myself things, I will enjoy every single first of his life. And thats more than his father can say.
