Hello!

I just wondered how many of you are very much struggling with money are prego/or TTC?

Reason I ask is :
a) I'm broody
b) there's a VERY small chance I could be pregnant.

Bf has a teaching job lined up in Sep, I have a pants job, but a job non the less. We're both in our overdrafts (graduates) and owe my dad £3,000 (car loan) but he has said that I pay him when and how much I can, so it's not a major loan, it's interest free.

While it would be ideal if we all had our babies when we're flush with cash, that's not how life works. I have many many friends who had kids when it seemed like the worst possible timing and everything turned out fine. You know what they say... if you wait until your finances are just right before having a child, you probably won't have one! :)
Sure babies make things harder, but where there's a will there's a way. I hope you get the result you want on the preggo question! :)

My Thoughts exactly :hugs:

I have debts do to uni and due to stupidity of an ex but im pregnant and wouldn't change that for the world.

We are very much in debt. I have about ten medical bills I cant pay, husbands job is about to go under, we live with my parents, my unemployment that I collect is about to get taken away. Needless to say the pregnancy wasn't planned, but I still wouldn't change it.

Thanks everyone :)

I'm gonna have a word with my bf tonight. I want to TTC sooner than planned.

I think its one thing to plan a pregnancy but another to have an unplanned pregnancy and trying to cope with debt.
People do cope but it is easier if you have some cash, i'm not talking bucketfuls!
Having a baby is stressful and trying to cope with a lot of debt at the same time will only make it worse. I would try and hold off for a while, BUT I know how powerful those broody feelings can be!

I think that as long as you know that, even when baby arrives, you will be able to cover at least the minimum payments, then your debts should not put your life on hold. (of course you must be strict and pay these properly and certainly not take out any more!!)

If you can, then you should re-pay as much as possible, if not all outstanding debts before your bubs arrives. We have a debt (see our ticker) but even with stepping down payments for a year while baby gets sorted, we will still be debt free in 2 years, bubs wont know any different, and we will have money for holidays etc when they are able to enjoy them.

It's all down to your circumstances, being sensible and not making your situation any worse. If this is the case, then why not get on with life!

Definitely, if we can meet payments, we should be fine :)
