Has anyone else experienced this?

We were giving her a bottle before bed, she gets quite colicky, so we gave her a dose of this as instructed after her milk, she nearly choked trying to swallow it.

We put her do bed after she calmed down, 3 hours later, awoke to a horrid noise similar to someone drowning, my poor baby girl was being sick and choking on her own sick.

Im convinced it was those drops, its never happened before, she isnt a particulary sicky baby. I dread to think what would have happened if i hadnt got to her in time :cry:

That sounds horrible. How's her gag reflex? I know when they checked my LO , the lady said she had a good gag reflex.

Glad she is ok.

I dont know- No ones ever checked! I will ask in the baby clinic next week.
If shes a lil sicky in then night from her milk she usually turns her head to the side and a lil bit comes out, this was like violent sick :(

That dentinox stuff tastes like crap too, no wonder she hated it, im going to stick with Infacol, babies like the taste of that, tastes like orange syrup x

Hi hunny
My LO always gagged and chocked on them.

We just put it in teh bottle instead. It is just simeticone-totally fine in the bottle.

Wont it make her milk taste funny though?

OMG that's so scary! Glad you're both ok now xx

When I have to give LO medicine, I find that it is much easier to put it in a bottle nipple without attaching the nipple to the bottle, and having it suck it down. It doesn't make him gag that way.

My LO was the opposite - gagged on Infacol but we used to put the dentinox in her bottle. Glad she's OK x

Ohh bless her, and you, how scary. Glad she's ok xx

You has to be very slow when syringing anything into your baby's mouth. You have to do it a tiny bit at a time at first. Alex has his dentinox in his bottle and drinks it absolutely fine.

I want to add...we were told that when we have to give LO medicine with the medicine dropper, to put it in on the side of his mouth. I find that when I have put it straight in, he does gag, but if I put it on the side, he does better with it.

Thanks everyone, she just did a HUGE sick and it stank of dentinox :(

Arh poor baby :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Poor Mummy :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Was she on her back?? I noticed that when Tessa is sick on her back, it shoots straight in the air then splats on her faces, goes in her nose and eyes and just generally gets everywhere and also makes her cough and splutter loads.

I know it's against current advice but I do lay her on her side, then if she is sick it falls away from her.

It's obviously upto you, but just a thought xx

I used dentinox in my LO's bottle, she did fuss abit with the first feed of doing it, but she soon got used to it and was then fine with it. Glad your LO ok :)

She usually lies on her back and tilts her head to the side, so it hasnt been a problem! She did what you described whilst lying on her changing mat the other day :dohh: not nice!

Ps- our babies have the same middle name :)
