No success with Infacol ... it really doesn't seem to make any difference to our little one's (apparently very painful) nighttime colic. Anybody given up with Infacol but found that gripe water or Dentinox makes a big difference instead?

Dentinox is a God send for me it seems much more effective and save my sanity lol x

I ended up using dentinox instead of infacol. Think it worked slightly better but ultimately I just had to wait it out and lo got much better at dealing with wind around 11 weeks x

We tried Dentinox in her bottle (it tastes absolutely foul, she wouldn't take it by mouth) and it did nothing. Tried gripe water once and it came straight back out followed by screaming.

Still using a mix of Infacol and Colief, neither of which seem to be having much effect but I'm sticking with it as its been so highly recommended (the Colief).

My friend said she used to add gripe water to the bottles (a 5ml spoon, substituting 5ml of water) and said it worked quite well.

If you're breast feeding, you may find it a struggle to get your baby to take Dentinox or gripe water orally since they taste so bad (I dare you to try them :p).

We tried all three with our LO and gripe seemed to work better. However after 4 weeks of constant upset day and night (we thought colic at first) it turned out she had silent reflux so we are now also on infant gaviscon and shes much better....although if its the colic I dont think the gaviscon is needed. We still have our moments (normally between 6-8pm) when she has a bit of a crying fit but we give her some gripe and she settles for bed when we give her the next feed at around 9.

I sympathise, we were tearing our hair out every night as we could do nothing to help xx

I tried all of the above but in the end the only thing that worked for us was changing bottles to Dr Browns. How old is your LO? Eerily changed about seven weeks ago and he's now twelve weeks so doesn't have any problems anymore. Changing bottles certainly helped for those six or seven weeks though....:flower:

My LO screams when I give him dentinox it has a touch of mint so not very pleasant he's also EBF with reflux however I use an infacol syringe to give him and he swallows before he gets a chance to spit it at me lol

Dentinox had a slight effect but made LO scream hysterically as it tastes disgusting!
We didn't try gripe water until she was around 4 months old as there were shortages but when we tried it it made her sick. I thought it tasted rather nice, though! Hope your LO improves soon :)

Infacol worked wonders for dd but made ds blocked. Dentinox made him howl when burping and farting until we started giving him a half dose. Worked wonders then. Had to stop though as they make his reflux worse. We use gripe water when it's a bad period like we always did. Hipp milk really helped though this comment won't help anyone breastfeeding!

Oh also, if you use dentinox don't put it straight in your poor los mouth lol. Put it in the bottle so it can't be tasted x
