Hi ladies this may sounds really silly but I loved my baby's hair it was beautiful dark brown and loads of it. Now due to him getting cradle cap and general him rubbing it its so patchy and coming through a beautiful blonde like me but I miss his lovely thick dark hair. His cradle cap and excema is making me down too. :(
Just wanted to get that off my chest xxx

We had the same and I was gutted. I stopped bathing him so often and used olive oil to get rid of his cradle cap. Now he's showered once per week and its gone plus his eczema is loads better. He lost all his thick sark hair but now has thick brown hair which is lovely. (He lost every hair from ear to ear round the back but it grew really quick) xxx

Apple Cider Vinegar can help speed up getting rid of cradle cap. Grapefruitseedextract can also be used as well as coconut oil. All have antifungal properties.
Removing flakes with a soft bristle brush will help shed the skin.

If it would continue to be a problem and not go away with time antifungals like clotrimazole based cream and solution can help. I have seen babies that develop and chronic fungal issue and it took a very long time to clear.

It can also be related to diet - things like Gluten, wheat, sugar and high carb foods. Even if just the mother consumes them and breastfeeds.

Aww :hugs: I feel the same. My baby had a bit of hair when he was born and it was very dark. He's pretty much bald now and what hair he has got is very fair. He looks totally different!

My babies both lost that dark newborn hair. I thought that was pretty normal?

My DD2 has the most amazing hair!! Everyone comments on it because it's both dark and long (and very sticky uppy:haha:) I've had friends tell me that they tell THEIR friends about her hair and it falling out is a panic for me. Obviously it won't be the end of the world but for now it's her identity and I'd feel sad if she lost it so I totally understand how you feel :hugs:

My youngest was born with lots of dark hair and I thought we'd gotten away with it not falling out, but no it has. My first was born bald and my second had a bit of hair that fell out quickly. I thought with the amount of hair my third had it might stay put, but it's gradually thinned and become lighter. Hopefully it'll grow back pretty quickly, my other 2 have lovely thick hair now. I've always wanted one of those babies with super long hair though!

My wee one was really dark as a newborn, she held on to her hair fairly well but it has gone really blonde now. My OH and I were both white blonde as young kids, so it was sort of inevitable.

If it makes you feel better, my wee one now looks gorgeous as a blonde, she has probably an average amount of hair but she really suits her blonde hair. She's still dark at the back, but actually it makes the bald spot on the back of her head look better now that she is going blonde!

Try coconut oil and a soft brush for the cradle cap. I think most babies loose the first lot of hair it's just part of them developing

We have the same problem. My girl had really long fark hair and now losing it so quick((( every time we come back from outside and i take her beanie off i find lots in it and my heart bleeds...

What make coconut oil would you suggest for cradle cap?

Most babies lose the hair they're born with, don't they?
My DS wasnt born with any hair really. He had very little so I didn't have to think about that. DD had more hair when she was born and hers thinned out a lot but it grew back pretty quick.
