Hi guys..

I posted this in baby, but wanted to seek an opinion here as well.. Sorry for sounding like a paranoid mom..
My LO just turned 3 months n only as of yesterday he gained some head control..his head still wobbles though..also, his hands r always clenched tightly and in his mouth.. Ppl have been telliy me that its normal n all, but I hvr read that this isn't completely good and indicative of CP. He doesn't bat at toys since his hands r in his mouth only. Really concerned here. Tx

If you're concerned bring it up with your health visitor next time you see her xx

There are some delays that can be caught that early. Some kids truly are on their own timeline and it's a bit early to say anything for sure but don't let others completely dismiss you. I think it's always better to ask.

My son had flat head syndrome which his doctor caught right away (at 2 months) so we were referred to physiotherapy and the specialist was able to confirm my suspicions that he was falling behind on many things. She also pointed out that he had sensory issues though I think she wisely avoided any actual diagnosis terminology at the time.

You're your LO's mom. Sometimes we do get paranoid but if it's something you can't shake, then you need to stand up for him.

little babies do all tend to develop differently I think within a certain window I am not sure. In all honesty (this sounds awful) I can't really remember what my lo was doing at 3 months but i do remember her being able to hold her head up almost immediately she was pretty much trying from the day she was born. however my daughter is really active and wriggly. I would probably just ask my health visitor so she can put your mind at ease. I wouldnt suggest those online milestone checkers as they tend just to make you worry when your baby is developing fine

:hugs:

Honestly, I think it sounds totally normal. Some babies have better head control than others. You could mention it to the HV but I they'll tell you it's nothing to worry about.

It sounds fine to me but definitely speak to your hv if you are worried

Thanks girls..apparently putting hands in mouth is a milestone for 3 months.. N he is batting at toys etc. As for head control, it is say 70-80% and we never gave him tummy time. HV says its fine n to introduce tummy time now. Anyway total head control comes by 5-6 months.. Thnkz for help..
