First of all...I wanted to ask if there are any ladies here who have managed to have a successful VBAC? And whether the experience was "worth it" to you, which experience did you ultimately like better (vbac vs section) and if you could do it all over again, which would you choose?

I had 2 EMCS's with my first two babies. With my DD (second baby) I was absolutely desperate for a VBAC and was crushed when my labour more or less progressed EXACTLY like my first did (that is to say... after 16 hours never made it past 4cm!) and her heart rate started dropping, same as had happened with my DS. Long story short, ended in EMCS.

I spent months after the birth in tears any time I even thought back or discussed it with anyone, and suffered PND for the first 6 months. Don't know how related this was to the EMCS or just a combination of everything, but ever since finding out we are expecting #3 I've been determined to try for another VBAC. Last week, however, I had a really good, honest, open consultation with the senior OBGYN at our hospital who gave me a lot to think about, but ultimately agreed that it was my choice to make. So now I'm weighing the pros/cons I discussed with the doctor and trying to make a decision, and would love to hear what other people experienced and what they would do if they knew then what they know now...

Thanks in advance :flower:

I haven't had a vbac but I've had a vaginal birth with my first and an emergency c section with my second! I don't plan to have any more children but I'm sure if I did I would try for vbac!
The recovery for c-section is just horrendous and I feel is partly to blame for how low I have been feeling I hoping this is a bad case of the baby blues rather then pnd!
My first birth wasn't plain sailing by any means I had a slow 36hr back to back labour and tore so was in pain like if never felt for a few weeks but the pain after emc is a million times worse and makes looking after baby difficult!
This said if doctors were to advise me to have c section due to thinking there is a strong chance labour would not progress again and it would end in emc, I would probably end up choosing csection to avoid the trauma of going through labour only to end in an emergency where baby is in danger. I think a planned csection would be less traumatic!

Wow ur 27 weeks Alredi! How exciting
Obv I can't give advice regarding v bac but I do remember how much you wanted one.
I think you have to do what's best for you
