ok so Ruby has a cold and feels pretty miserable. I noticed that her nursery is 25c so I have changed from a 2.5 to a 1 tog....Is this ok??

Thank you x

I don't see why not, I personally would have opened the window and cooled the room down and then put her in the 2.5 tog one, but I can't see any harm in what you have done.

opening windows was no option its chuxking it down and rather windy xx

Yep, I'm with Noodles, its an appropriate tog for that temp (what is LO wearing?) I personally can't cool down LO's room quickly even if I open a window, so would have done what you did.

ooo she be fine with vest and baby grow aswell x

yep i think you're right. i'm sure the 1 togs says for those kind of temps (but assume that your LO will be in those temps in the summer) so i think you did the right thing :)

Yeah I always use a 1 tog as our house is pretty walm, and put LO in vest and babygrow. There were guidelines on what to wear with each tog on the back of the bag mine came in!

Haha!! I was about to ask where you live if your nursery is 25!! You are a fellow Scot!!

Sorry, but I would turn the heating down - my midwife would say its too hot in the room - and central heating that warm is not good for anyone!! 22 I have been told is max it should be in a nursery - 18-20 being perfect.

I honestly get really bunged up if the temp in room is any higher than about 21!!

So, I say get the temp down a bit and get LO in a 2.5 tog:flower:

i would feel her and see how she feels?
also remember the temp will dip in the night so while she might be ok now she could be cool later x

i know it's too hot but we dont have anything where we can turn it down!!
:(
Also we live in a cottage and her room is in the roof so it does get extra hot!!

I sympathise hun, we also live in a (tiny) cottage and it gets so warm, even turning the heating down doesn't seem to work!

You did the right thing, I bought some 1.0 tog grobags today now the weather is getting a bit warmer. x

We have similar problems atm right now the temp is at 24 and LO is lying in his cot sleeping with just a vest on and later tonight if its still really warm il put him in a 0.5 tog sleeping bag with vest and sleepsuit with a light blanket over just in case it drops loads in the night. On colder nights Il put him in a 2.5 tog with vest and sleepsuit but no blanket
