I invited friends over this weekend to see the my baby girl. Baby will be one month old exactly when they visit. She hasnt received any shots yet such as tdap. Friends will only stay a few hrs, 4 hrs max, and may ask to hold her & I may say yes & take pictures. I want to enjoy these visits and time but just suddenly realized about the shots. I'll ask them to wash their hands & ask if they feel well if they request holding the baby ( no cough or colds) but did I make a dumb mistake inviting them already before baby got tdap?

It's fine. I had many visitors during my LO's first month.

I think you're stressing a bit too much... Enjoy your friends visit, and relax ☺

my DS went to the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show at 2 weeks old. It was PACKED with spectators, exhibitors, vendors, horses, dogs... Just a bunch of organized chaos. He was perfectly fine. He also spent much of his first couple months around horse stables in general. He's a perfectly healthy long yearling right now and getting ready to celebrate his 2nd birthday in February. No need to stress :)

It's fine don't worry. Both my babies had visitors when they were that little.

I think you'll be fine. Now not sure I would have wanted lots of visitors over at that point as I was still trying to cope with feeding and no sleep and the last thing I would have wanted was to entertain anyone. But I think you're absolutely fine. The things that the Tdap protects against are not things that the average healthy adult would have and be able to easily transmit. They are largely childhood illnesses and most if not all of your friends have likely been vaccinated for them anyway when they were children (and Tetanus you only get from stepping on a rusty nail or piece of broken glass in the dirt, again not something your LO could get from casual contact with adults). I would be wary maybe of another baby or young child who was unvaccinated and had recently been ill with a known illness like whooping cough or chicken pox. But short of that, I think you're fine.

We started getting out of the house with her on Day 3 and didn't have a problem. :) Just kept strangers away and made everyone that we did trust her with to sanitize their hands first. We took her to see my co-workers around the 3rd week I think since they wanted to see her. As long as no one is sick and they keep their hands clean baby should be okay. :flower:

Totally fine. There no need to keep people away, your immune system well give your lo enough protection until they get their jabs
