I was asked halfway through my scan if I've ever had any operations and now that has worried me, on reflection I should have asked why he was asking that but he seemed really unapproachable ! I'm learning to be more assertive in this game !

Anyway it detected pco and I'm awaiting fs app
just wandering if anyone could shed some light ?
Could it be endo as I'm thinking did he see scar tissue to ask me that question and other than detecting cycts would the scan show anything else ?

Got myself all worried so pleeeeease help !

Could be anything, hun. From hims seeing something unusual or just trying to leanr about your medical history.

I agree that sonographers can be sooo unapproachable!! The lady that was scanning me for PCOS in May hasn't said a word! I asked her several times what she was seeing and all she said (just the once!) - The Dr will explain the results to you!!!!:growlmad:

Then she was pressing on one of the organs and it was quite painful - I mentioned it to her but she took no notice :growlmad:

When's you fs appointment? I normally prepare a list of questions and go in with the list - to make sure we cover everything!

hi Ebony_Blaze,
i think the question that u were asked is a general question. I was also asked this question while a pelvic scan (both internal and external, just before HSG). The doctor/nurse who was doing it also asked me if I have ever had any abortion or miscarriage and some more questions which I don't remember now. After injecting the dye and taking some images I also remember the nurse pressing my whole abdomen for some reason which I did not inquire and took another set of images. I think u just don't need to worry about that question.

And also about PCO, I have lot of friends who have/had PCO and all of them have nice healthy babies/kids.

if they can't see one of the ovaries clearly (because it was tucked down behind everything) then they would want to check that you haven't had one removed before they spend time searching for it. he must have found them in the end though, if he saw you had pco

that could be one explanation?

Hi Hun

thank you for your reply, I think I'm just worrying as it has been a bit of a wait ! My fs app is Thursday, just my initial app so hopefully the nurse can get my hsg arranged as my gp has arranged most of our tests, as we've had x2 sa, and bloods etc so think that's the next step !

Good luck

Hi Hun

I've never thought of that ! Thank you
that will make sense as he kept priding and poking sooo much and kept sending me out the room to drink more water, it was so painful I was in tears, that's the other thing, there was me sobbing as they were saying I might have to come back another day so I got a bit upset, and it was like they were just ignoring that factor !

Thanks for making me feel better

Feeling for you Ebony_Blaze :hugs: Sometimes the Drs/Nurses just don't think and/or are just insensitive - I was meant to have my HSG today but they cancelled me at the last minute cos the machine broke. Nurse then tells me that we're not to try this month due to the next HSG appointment and timing etc so we're out for this month. So, I'm upset/frustrated anyway because I've been building up to it and then she tells me 'not to worry' and that 'one month of not trying won't make much of a difference anyway.' Sigh, sometimes its better to just smile and do the sympathetic head tilt rather than say anything at all.

Hope your appointment goes well on Thursday x

Hey sbee

Oh no what a shame, I'm sorry.
I know, it's very easy for other people to day don't worry !
Have a nice relaxing month, do something that you don't normally do and use this month to really treat yourself, and get yourself and your body prepared for a hopefully very soon pregnancy.

Thank you, think I will feel better after Thursday
