I have an 8 month old and I plan to have a second when she is about 2 and a half. I know that pregnancy can affect nursing, however. So, for those who did natural weaning (aka self-weaning), did your second nurse longer than your first? How close in age were your kids?

I don't know yet! We're tandeming still. Arthur isn't as interested as Alice was at his age, but I don't know if that will affect how long he continues. There's a 2 year 9 month age gap between them.

I was wondering more about the pregnancy and newborn stage affecting things. Sounds like it worked out for you.

Pregnancy only increased her interest, although I was dry nursing, and soooo tempted to wean. The only reason I continued is because it meant so much to her, and I didn't have the energy to force her to stop. I cut her down to twice a day though. After Arthur was born, she was delighted with all the milk and amazingly useful at helping out with engorgement, and overactive let down. She weaned for a bit then started up again a few months later, but I limit her to once a day now.
