Disgusting TMI question about ingrown hair on thigh

Ok so, I had an ingrown hair on the crease of my thigh, my doctor told me to use hot compresses on it which I have been for the past 5 days. Well today it burst, and it smells FOWL and the goo coming from it is brown and red. Do I need to go see a doctor or will it draining like it is solve the problem? Thanks!

I would see a doctor myself. It sounds like a cyst has formed. They can often reform and fill up again.

Sounds like a sebaceous cyst to me. They do come back and refill and can be really painful if in an area where rubbed by clothing.

Thanks ladies, I'm so squeamish about this stuff I ended up just going in to the doctor. She took one look and said "ooh... That doesn't look too nice" so they numbed me up, cut into it (yes, I said they cut into it.) and have put me on antibiotics for a possible staph infection. The doctor told me she thinks there is a 50/50 chance it could have gone as far as MRSA, so they have put me on antibiotics that would help with both just incase.

So much fun.
