My 12 month old is extremely clingy and unless I pick him up he constantly cries and moans. I can't even nip to the loo without him waiting at the bottom of the stairs for me in tears, he follows me every where crying until I pick him up.

My DS went through a seperation anxiety phase around 12 months. I don't know if it's down to growth spurt or general development. It was just before he started walking.

As Button said my dd was the same at that age. She was unsettled for quite a while and it affected everything including sleep, bath time. She even refused to sit in her stroller and high chair. It was before she started walking, exactly as Button said. I dunno if this is related but dd had a lot of colds between 11-13 months.

Ooh actually my DS had a lot of colds then as well, he was also teething pretty badly at the time.

My DD 12 months is the same, she does have a cold and teething so not sure if it's that or just a phase

There's a big separation anxiety phase around then. I found with my two and other kids I know that it was over by around 15 months or sooner. My daughter is 13.5 months and is coming out of it now.

Could also be molars if your baby is an early teether.
