LO is 8 weeks old and so far i have avoided getting out of bed for nightfeeds thanks to ready made cartons.

now she's been prescribed a powdered formula though, which i'll make up and store in the fridge. She drinks her bottles as room temperature.

Is there a way to avoid getting up? Can i take it to bed in a cool bag?!

not sure the guidelines but I have read that it is only good for two hours after made...we get up and make ours up.

Maybe invest in a mini fridge and a bottle warmer for the bedroom? xxx

I used to make up all my bottles for the day and night but it was so time consuming. But what I do at night is boil the kettle before i go to bed, fill the bottles to 90ml, put the rest of the boiled water in a flask. Then I bring all the bottles into our room as well as the powder, and when he wakes to be fed I top the bottle with the water from the flask to 150ml which will be hot then put the powder in. It saves me from moving and its the perfect temperature (give or take). Obvs it depends how much your LO takes, but generally for me its 3 quarters cooled boiled water and a quarter boiling water. I always check the temperature before though just in case its too hot or cold, my LO doesn't like room temperature milk haha

I was Same as you. My son had cartons initially But then was prescribed neocate So I invested in a kettle for next to my bed. So now when he stirs I flick it on Without getting out of bed And make his bottle 50-50 Boiling water and cold water. Voila! X

Another thing I used to do Was to make a bottle with 100% boiling water, Take it to bed, And that would do fr his feed tat was required two hours after I went to bed. By the time it cooled down he was ready For It .

I do exactly the same as 'dimple123' and it works really well- takes about 30 secs! x

I'm in the USA so do it a bit differently, I put them in the fridge and then heat them when she wakes up, I microwave (i'm naughty) just until they're room temp....

I also make one and bring it to bed with me because she usually wants it within the 2 hours.

We do get up but only to fetch a bottle from the fridge (and we live in a bungalow so it's hardly far to go! :haha:). We make up around 4 bottles at a time and then just keep them in the fridge until needed. The bottle warmer is in our room.

I just make it give it to lo at from temp and keep it next to the bed. I hate wasting the milk. In the day when we go out I don't stop to make up feed or running around looking for cafes to heat bottles so why would I do it at night time. My little one 5 and a half months and hasn't been sick. To be honest I thought it was normal lol. I use to breast feed at night only, but my milks all gone. When I visited the state they cousin didn't even sterilize the bottles the way we do in the UK and I hear they don't boil the kettle water first, I guess everyone does it different.

Ravenmel - so do you not even worry about how longit's stood at room temp? It doesn't go sour or anything?
Since mine has it at room temp and not warm i think i'm going to experiment with a cool bag and see how long that will keep it at fridge v's room temp. I don't trust myself withboiling water at 3 am!

I sometimes premake and sometimes add to sterile room temp having a toddler I often get distracted and forget to premake which is when i use cooled boiled water in sterile bottles an add the powder.

So depending on how I've made the bottles, I either take from fridge and eat in the microwave (did this with my daughter I can't see how hot spots would ever occur from 20 seconds just to take the chill off) or I add scoops to the room temp water.. Either way I bring him downstairs to feed as he projectiles a lot and also needs a nappy change which would both be a nightmare in semi darkness and also wake my 2 year old
