Do you release an egg when you have O pains or after?

Hi, I think the pain is caused by the egg releasing from the ovary so the pain would be the same time as the egg release.

last month i had OV pain on april 9&10 and am fairly certain I actually ovulated on the 12th, so because of that i'd say the pain comes a few days before the actual ovulation...but is different for everyone!

According to FertilityFriend and my temperatures, I ovulated on CD21 last month but I had the strangest sharp pain from my left ovary area on CD25 so I have no idea!

Everyone is different but I normal ov within 12-24 hours of getting the pains
