For those ladies who are being tested/having referrals, did you inform your work/employer that you were having time off because of this or did you not feel it necessary?

The reason I am asking is that we are being tested for recurrent miscarriages and anticipate having alot of appointments/time off due to tests, etc.

Many thanks, Rumps xxx

My boss no's to a certain extent but she doesnt no the full extent of the tests because if she did shed most probally let me go.

Depends on the relationship you have with your employer hun.

If you can't get the apointments outside of work time you may have to tell them or can you take hols or lieu time?

I told mine. Knew she would be sensitive and she offered me loads more time off then I was entitled too (and paid which you shouldn't get for infertility treatment).

But someone else in the team who went through IVF last year never said a thing and used leave, went sick and just said it was for girl problems that she had to go to doctor for.

Depends what you feel most comfortable with.

Depends on your relationship with employer. I didnt tell mine. Plus i figured if i did tell them and they needed to make redundances or something i woild be considered to go as i would be leaving for mat leave. Of if there was a promotion you wouldnt be considered. But if your relationship is good then why not. Or if it its gonna be hard to explan time off. It shouldnt be this way but sometimes it is

my boss knows I have ovary issues that I've been to the hospital for and take tablets for. She also knows I'm having an appt in march which I'm taking as hol, plus the OP later in the year. I trust her, but work in a close environment,so it might not work for everyone

I told mine, but I asked her to keep it to herself, which she has. I just wanted her to understand why I would need time off, if and when I needed it. So far im am taking all my appointments as holidays unless I can get a late appointment, then I just leave early.
It was a weight off my mind as Im not good at fibbing!
