Chloe will only take 3oz at a time, sometimes 4oz if I'm lucky, do you think this is enough for a 10 week old? She weighs 11lb 7oz at her last weigh in at 9 weeks.
I only ask as my friends LO is 2 weeks younger and she wrote on her Facebook status the other day that she wishes her baby would drink more than 3oz at a time (not quite sure why she wrote that as her status?!).
Chloe does have reflux so will pull away and always cries after a feed so I worry she is only stopping feeding cos she's in pain. But then saying that during her night feed she didn't cry and seemed quite chilled and still only took 3 1/2oz.

Just wondering if this seems right to you or if I should go back to HV. She is currently on losec for her reflux.

As long as she's gaining weight then I'd say don't worry - she'd soon let you know if she wanted/needed more x

I agree, as long as shes gaining weight and stays on the right path then its not about how much shes drinking!

All babies are different, it took me ages to realise my LO was just little built and didnt need loads of milk to grow!

My daughter is the exact same. She has been on 4oz bottles since 3 weeks old and is till on the same size but its very rare she finishes a bottle during the day. She sometimes only takes 2oz out itthen starts crying with her reflux (she is on gaviscon and omaprezole). She is 3 months next Monday and is still quite wee but is steadily gaining weight and is happy and content now she is one her medicine so im not too worried. The doc said as long as u get plenty wet and poopy nappies and they gain weight then its not important how much milk they take. As for night time baby is relaxed at night and sleepy which is why they dont cry or fuss with the bottle so much. I try and feed my daughter just before she is about to wake up fully during the day and this seems to be working to get her to take more milk. They begin to associate the pain of reflux with the bottle which is why they get upset when being fed. Just go with what she takes and a good tip for reflux babies is to fed little and often and also keep a note of what oz she takes at each bottle for a few days - u might be surprised at the amount she takes over 24 hours. Check out this website too - www.littlerefluxers.co.uk

You dont say how often she takes it hun? I would say its fine, especially with reflux less is better. Jax has reflux & suffers badly with wind getting stuck he was on 4oz & went upto 5oz , but just lately he's back down to 3/4oz & isn't throwing it up the same.

I'm glad someone has posted this! I was worried as my baby only drinks 4oz 6 times a day and she is 9lb11oz and 7 weeks old. But this has reassured me. Thank you! xx

My 10 week old eats the same amount. As long as your LO is gaining weight, don't worry about it. All babies eat at their own pace.
