Just when I thought I had all of the respect in the world for the TV Show Doctor Who, they managed to gain some even more. At one point in the newest episode they reveal that the redhead (can't remember her name) can't have children, it's finally happening. Infertility is being brought to light! I'm so happy about this because if the Doctor Who show talks about it means its being accepted in the main stream. I was wondering the whole episode what was wrong with her, something seemed off. She seemed very angry both at Rori and herself.

Edit: remembered her name, Amy!

Yeah, I was watching it last night and it was fantastic! She gave up on their marriage because all he wanted was children and she couldn't give him any. Too bad she's leaving in a few episodes.

She is? such a shame. But yea, I was shocked to hear about the topic. My heart sunk to the floor yet i say a glimer of hope when I heard the discuss infertility. She did such a fantastic job with the acting!

yup, they change the companion every few series. the new one is the girl who was being featured in the episode.

very gd show the other night, and  to them with the infertility mention x

I thought it was unrealistic. I mean if you have followed the show you know Rory waited 2000 years for her outside the pandorica. That's why he said he loves her more than she loves him. She never shows him love just leads him along like a puppy. Besides no matter how sterile Madame Kovarian made her there are still options so I find it selfish she never discussed those with Rory after all they have been through, what is infertility? Besides, they have a child- Melody, aka River Song, so it's false that she never had a child. many women will never have one child due to infertility and she has had a child albeit not under ususla circumstances. Moffat can't write women. I find him sexist. he likes the companions to be 20 year olds running around in tight skirts. I'd rather see women like Donna or Martha who are strong, intelligent and independant women versus characters like Amy.

In fairness, having a child does not mean you can't be infertile. It does happen over time, some women can have 3 and suddenly are no longer able to have more. But I do agree though about getting tired of the 20 year old youngins lol. And I do agree it was selfish of her not to discuss it with him but it could've also been her feeling guilty and broken, we all react differently to infertility. I was just generally happy for the IF mention, was getting tired of every show where it's either accidental BFP or it happened on first attempt. To see a woman struggling for once was refreshing

:) I just think it's awesome there are whovians here! I have so many feels for Rory. I suppose that's why I don't like Amy lol. But Moffat definately doesn't seen to have much ability to convey female characters. Even River falls flat to me. And Alex Kingston is a heck of an actress so I think it's the writing and weak plot lines.

:D i still miss david tennant! matt smith is a great actor but he doesn't do it for me.

Loved Doctor Who since i was little, grew up with Colin Baker xx

Also a massive Torchwood fan, and have been to many signings.

Ive met John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David Lloyd, Naoko Mori, Tom Price, Kai Owen and Burn Gorman.

Off to a Doctor Who convention in Dec to meet David Tennant and Billie Piper :)
