Doctors for TAC in Toronto canada

Hi all,

I had suffered 3 second trimester losses in the past 3yrs due to IC. The last 2 i had TVCs placed during 15 weeks but did not work. I am considering TAC pre pregnancy for the next one. I live in Toronto Canada and would like to know if there are specialist doctors to perform TAC here in Toronto. I have heard of TAC specialist in chicago and nyc, but i cant afford to go there. Would really appreciate any information on this... Thanks....

@angellos sorry for your loss.I too have had losses and failed tvc X2 with my son who came @ 25 weeks, today he is a healthy rambuncious 2 year old. I had my TAC for this current pregnancy placed by DR. Grace Lui @ sunnybrook hospital in Toronto, I had it done @ 16 weeks gestation. Im now full term because of my TAC. GL

Hello Agiboma,
Thanks for sharing that... Did you have lap TAC or traditional? And how did the procedure go and how long did it take to recover.
Did your OB confirm you had IC before opting for the procedure? The reason y I am asking this is, because my doctors are still not sure if I have IC or not and are giving odd reasons for the losses.. But I do not have the strength to experiment with my self any more. I am trying to find the right solution for before the next try.

I understand about not wanting another loss all to well and the tvc not working out. I had a lap TAC and yes my IC was confirmed when i lost a baby @ 20 weeks, then with my son's pregnancy the tvc i got failed X2, so my only option to carry to term was a TAC and now i am term with my first TAC pregnancy. I also had to fight for this and it was not easy because my OB kept telling me the tvc was easier to manage blah blah blah, but i was not interested for me it was TAC or nothing, and i did not have the strength to spend another few months in NICU seeing my baby suffer and fight for their lives. Its your body and you should fight for it. Ask for a referral to Dr. Grace Lui @ sunnybrook and have her review your history.
