As the title states, I'm wondering if anybody sells/ has sold on Ebay before? I'm interested in maybe trying to sell a few items that I haven't been able to get rid of at the consignment stores in town. I know absolutely NOTHING about it though, and would love any insight on how to do it/if it's worth it ( I don't have any " high dollar" items to sell just new books that I don't want mostly) Thanks!:flower:

I find it easier to sell through local Facebook selling groups. With ebay you have to pay a fee to advertise your item and then once it's sold you have to pay a percentage of the final sale amount to them too. If you sell on facebook there are no fees and usually the person buying will collect the item which saves messing around posting things.

But if you do decide to sell on ebay then it's really very simple - all you do is click on the selling link and follow the instructions. It tells you clearly what to do and how much it will cost you x

I've ebayed a bunch of time, I try to avoid doing it for low end stuff that is less than 20 or so.

You can also sell via amazon.com but it also costs money.

Have you tried craigslist.org? It's free.

I've put lots of clothes on, and although I didn't get much per item then it quickly added up. I probably could have gotten more on a Facebook selling page, but not everybody wants second-hand clothes. I always use the Facebook local selling page to look for things I need to LO, get some right bargains!

I don't like ebay to complicated, used amazon a lot. much more easy to use and understand.

People on the f.b selling groups are really cheap lol i see them offering people insane prices for things (might just be where i live though haha)

I use ebay quite a bit for selling things.

I tend to do a bit of research first. I know that only clothes from certain stores will sell so they are the only ones i bother with. I also look to see how much people are willing to pay for them by watching a few items similar to what i am wanting to sell.
I then always list them when i won't be changed to sell and i always do an auction rather than a buy it now as it costs to do buy it now. I also always do it for the standard 99p starting price as anything above that costs.
Re postage - i always charge slightly more than it actually costs to post - this then covers the time/petrol/envelope etc. But i never overcharge.

I will only well things in good condition. If there are any marks or fading i don't bother.

Generally i don't make a lot of money from it but when you add it up over the course of 1 year then its an ok amount and i know the items haven't just been dumped somewhere.

I used to worked for a Jewelry store that sold only on eBay. I found that anything that is branded - like brand name jewelry item like Cartier or Rolex would always sell, no problem. It's the unbranded items, like gold necklace, that won't sell.

If you are selling just books, Amazon was great for me during college when I wanted to sell my books back. I know lots of people who do that. If they're new books, even better.

I often find that i have overcharged for postage.. but by accident ( i copy the average lol) but when this happens i just bump it up for first class! lol

Facebook selling pages are terrible, facebook is even more filled with scammers be careful!

Yes been using ebay since 07

I've used it but I often find once it's all done and dusted I haven't made much and it's probably not worth it so I give it to charity now
