Hi

I'm new here but wanted to ask a wee question. DH and me have been TTC #1 since July, 07 but the main problem we seem to have is with DH's swimmers! They are a bit shy, so to speak! They just don't show when we're DTD but if he is ......erm manually stimulated......... then it's no problem :dohh:.

DH has been on antidepressants for years but has recently come off them as '******ed ejacualuation' is a side effect of them. (Sorry if that's TMI!) Has anyone else experienced this? How do I get DH to relax when we're dtd to just let things happen?

Any advice would be appreciated

He may be feeling pressured because your ttc as well. Thats alot of pressure for a man, especially one who has just come off anti-depressants.

That's what I'm trying to avoid. I keep reassuring him that there is no pressure from me and it will take how ever long it takes.

I was just wondering if anyone else had any experience of this and how they handled it.

Thanks

Hi there!

I can give you my two pence worth! Dh has also been on anti depressants for years and in time I've learnt that the best thing to do is be as quiet about it as possible. I don't think us women will ever understand the severity of men needing everything "down there" to be in perfect condition and we've had many an argument of me not "understanding" and how something that I wouldn't have thought would make his eyebrows lift actually really upset him. In time I've decided to minimalize my opinions about this as it really upsets him and I feel I can deal with it alot better not talking about it than he actually can if anythings mentioned. Every person differs,so if your dh needs the reassurance don't stop, I'm just explaining what works for us. Since he's been on the pills, his semen quantity has also become less (as you said side effect of the medication), however I think (THINK) that if he doesn't ejaculate for a few days, it becomes more (???). As I said I might have it all wrong. I would think with your dh now being off the pills things should slowly but surely get back to normal form, it will obviously take a while for the medication to get out of his system, but if this continues I would suggest going to see your GP. Also, maybe do some homework on the net about diet and lifestyle changes that might help.

Anyhoo, hope all goes better soon on that side! Chin up!

Thanks Jezzah, DH is usually ok about talking about it but I leave it up to him and don't push it. I've looked into diet changes but as we all know it's easier to know what to do than actually do it

I'm hoping that as it can take about 6 weeks for the medication to work in the first place that it will take round about the same length of time to come out of him system, could be wrong there but hey, it's worth a try. I have mentioned DH talking to his GP about it but he's not too keen at the moment, which I completely understand so I guess it's just a case of giving it time and seeing what happens.

Thanks for replying :)
