Does anyone else's newborn make awful noises?

I realized last night that my three week old makes awful noises pretty much all the time! He honks, farts, grunts, squeaks, snorts, etc almost constantly when awake. Does anyone elses newborn do this or do I just have an unpleasant sounding baby!?!?!??????


By the way, apparently babies are suppose to start to "coo" and start to find their own voice this week. And mine is literally honking at times!

.....I may have a future car or bike developing in front of me instead of a baby.

My daughter made all sorts of interesting noises as a newborn! There was the elephant one, the monkey call, the exotic bird chirpage along with farts and burps of course!

Oh god Ethan's noises are horrendous. He sounds like an old man! The burps and farts are so loud and then there's the grunting and snorting and he sighs loudly as well when I try to entertain him like "Oh mum you're dull!"

Finn made all the above sounds, and at times, sounded like he was speaking in tongues (or conversely, like the devil incarnate!)....pretty normal as their breathing systems are 'new', but 'scary' to new mums/dads -- it will pass!

Amy does this too, her squeaks have turned into coos though, but she is so noisy when she is sleeping, you know when they wake out a sleep cycle and wriggle about? Ive mistaken this as waking for food so many times I go to make a bottle then get back to the bedroom and shes back in the land of nod...

My LO has made grunting noises since he was born .... he only does it at 5am though!!! aaarrrrgggghhhh!!! drives me mad! lol!!

He is cooing and gurgling loads now as well and will copy the ooohs and aaahhhs that I do, its so sweet

when he tries to laugh though it comes out as a cough! not sure if thats normal?!?!

Haha! We think she was imitating her rainforest playmat's sounds. It was a funny time but passed very quickly (4-10ish weeks I'd say).

Yes my LO used to make the most strange noises when in her Moses basket at night. My husband used to joke that she was possessed!

Mine is fast asleep as I read this and he grunted lol!

But yep, he makes all the same noises except now there are some uber cute ones too!

^ This!! I must get up every hour to check on him as he makes so much noise in his sleep! I haven't completely gotten the hang of sussing out whether he's wanting milk or just being a noisy bugger yet, so can't just leave him to get on with it every time, so tired. He only actually has one bottle in the night so if he didn't do his grunting I'd be quite well rested!

Mine too grunts, moans and crystal in his sleep. along with spew and choking sounds. ( reflux baby) also grunts very very loud when doing a poop. and I swear his farts are louder then mine lol. and when I'm breastfeeding him he does these really weird noises like squeaking .
not getting much sleep coz I too keep thinking he is waking up for a feed when he's just being noisy.
