First off, no judgement or baby jar food haters pls :P
So when my LO was smaller I made all my own baby puree, minus using a few pouches when out. Then a couple of months ago he got rotovirus and I was scared it was something I'd done with the food I made[mainly due to a stupid comment by my mother] and the doctors say it wasn't but still I threw out all my stash and have never frozen again. I've just lost confidence in myself in that department.
Since then my LO has had what we eat chopped or mushed up a bit, if he can eat it, which is about 3 times a week, finger foods/sarnies/fish fingers etc and baby jars.
Now I don't know anyone else who feeds their baby solely baby food jars, most I know don't use them at all! So I'm feeling a bit unconfident about that too!
I know he is growing up now so he won't be needing jars for much longer but I was thinking about next baby etc, there MUST be women who only feed their babies jarred food and don't make their own? Is there? They are made for babies afterall...they can't be THAT bad[I know some women who realllly reallly are down on them. I have tasted some myself and yes alot taste rank but some taste ok! lol

Yip, jar mummy here and my son (and his sister) are perfect!
Don't listen to what anyone else says, you are feeding your child and in my book, thats all that matters!
My son tries loads of finger food etc, but will always have a jar (or half) so i know he has eaten properly.

I went through a period where my lo had mostly ellas kitchen pouches for dinner. Our freezer broke and I couldn't make purée every day. Through laziness you understand! Obviously I could have made purée every day if I had so desired. As soon as he moved off purée he started having what we have for dinner, slightly mushed or cut up. I use the odd pouch still if we are having something like a takeaway but now lo doesn't like them. I imagine as home cooked stuff is much more tasty.

I have nothing against frequent use of jars/pouches. It means baby is getting a good mix of veg and protein where it might not be possible without them. I personally think home cooked is better as my lo def eats more usually, but that's just us. Convenience is a pretty big consideration for lots of families, us included at times.

Yep, I did with my first!

We did BLW with our second and it was much less stress though

Yes my ds1 has always ate jar food even now at the age of 16 months he's still eating the odd here there alongside with table and finger foods! I don't see what's so bad about them or what's wrong with them at all

And i have 2 only a year apart, my life is about convenience lol!

Yeah I too somedays just can't be bothered to prepare another separate meal for LO so I just go to jars. There are a few he likes but he isn't so keen on them really!
Thanks for the feedback ladies.

I am going to use jars as WIC here in the US gives me about 70 jars a month.... She may be eating baby food jars until she is 5.

They actually give you jars??? I think that is so silly and it would be better if they should give you vouchers for fruit and vegs and food essentials to prepare meals.:flower:

I do. I feed her organic baby food from pouches and jars. It's easier to send a jar to childcare, although they feed her other food too. And she doesn't really eat our food yet.

I have a bullet, so I always figured I'd make my own, but...

Ethan has a lot of jars. Honestly it's just more convenient and the easiest way for me to be sure he's getting vegetables etc. We live with my parents, my mum does nights shifts, OH gets home after 8pm, sometimes midnight. It's hard to sync up with everyone to have a homecooked healthy meal every day so jars are excellent for us. But he does have a combination of foods throughout the day. So he'll have weetabix or something for breakfast, sandwiches, finger foods and fruit for lunch and then a jar or pouch for dinner if ours isn't appropriate for him which is most evenings.

They give me an allowance for fruits and veggies for myself since I am still breast feeding. IDK if I would make my own baby food. I barely have time to make my own food so jars work out great for me. I planned to use them either way so getting that many free is great.

Literally every single mom I know feeds their babies only jars because they get them for free from WIC, a government program.

^ wss, and a lot of them don't even qualify for wic. It's just simple and there isn't anything wrong with it. IMO it isn't much different than making your own purees as the ingredients are whatever fruit/veg and water. I simply don't have time to do anything else!

I recently found a little wood thingy in Ella`s kitchen food, it didn`t put me off but i did complain and send the pouch t the company with a photo of it since my husband threw away the little evidence.

I like to make my home made food puree most of the time.. but lately my daughter is hating my home made food and loving pure jar food mostly fruits and love yoghurt.. it takes the fun out of making my own puree sometime :(
