Does First Response Really work 5 days before af?

I'm debating whether I should test early or just wait until my expected missed period...

For those out there does First Response really work 5 days sooner?

Or is it just a heartbreak...?

hiya im a nurse currently on early pregnancy just to let you know i aint makingit up lol, altho first response claim to give an accurate result before af it can still be misleading and it is best to do it on the day af is due using an early morning sample, if you cant wait do it anyway hun it cant hurt, but be assured you can not get a false possitive test only a false negative so may need to test again and might be expensive way of doing it

I think it would vary depending on the person and the pregnancy. I've known people to get positive tests a few days before their missed period with First Response, however, I was late by 2 days, and First Response still gave me 2 negatives.

This is my first post ever on this site! It totally depends upon the woman. I have a good friend who used one that kept giving her a negative result. Finally 5 days after AF was to show she got her BFP!

I use dollar tree tests to "humor" my addition. I've saved up a few First Response and digi's for THE time!

Praying it comes sometime this year!

I think i'm going to buy 1 equate, 1 first response, and a few dollar test.
I'm on 9dpo.. and i want to test on the 10th... so hopefully..

NP! I've reasoned with myself that I refuse to see No or Not Pregnant so I have a collection of digi's that have come with OPK's or a 3 or 4 pack. I also stick with pink dye tests- they have less chance of a evap line.

Sheesh..I've been reading up on this stuff entirely too much! This month I'm chillin, no stress. I think stressing over another BFP has thrown my body off (not like a m/c can't do that either!)

But I still can't wait for POAS time! FX'd for BFPS this month!

and i just ransacked the house looking for it so i can test...
I need an intervention!

But do you have the clear blue ovulation test?
what brand are the pink dye.. first response right?

I do have the clear blue (with you guessed it! A free digi!) but this will be my first month using them (I saw your post! i'm so curious about it, have you tried looking at www.peeonastick.com for answers?)You are right, first response is a pink die, accu clear, dollar tree (those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I'm waiting to ovulate and I'll test this month as well. 1st day of my cycle was...August 1st.. I'll ovulate sometime this weekend/early next week and then the wait begins.

It does work 5 days early, but it depends on when you O'd, and how quickly you produce HCG. It's just a very sensitive HPT, but the results will vary from person to person.

I think somewhere around 18% of people will test positive that early. The bad news is, it also increases your chances of catching a chemical pregnancy (where the egg doesn't implant) that you would not have known about otherwise.

Personally, if you can wait, I would. I'm also kind of cheap since I've spent so much money on these tests. Plus, I got my BFP w/ a $ store test before my $10 digital Clear Blue showed positive.

So, IMO, it's not worth the extra money. If you want to test, go for it! BUT, if you get a negative and don't get your AF, make sure to test again, because testing that early shouldn't be taken as a guarentee.

YES they do work they worked for me,5 days early i tested and i got bfp but not mega strong for 3 days running then i tedted for the 4th day and boom! neg it was a chemical pregnancy i`ll` never test early again id rather not know if i have another early loss.Good luck x

I would just like to say I love this thread. I am getting very impatient waiting for my AF day I just wanna know and have been concidering taking one of the first responce test I dont know why but I have a feeling I am preg but then some time I think im imagining it my head is wrecked tbh lol

I am 9dpo and got a with FRER today. I got a stronger line with Equate (as with my last pregnancy). I say if you won't be crushed to see a negative (knowing it could be to early) go ahead and test I know some people are anti- testing early but I happen to enjoy testing and the bfn dont bother me to much when I know there is still time that cycle to get a bfp.

I got my + 6 days before my expected AF with a First Response.... so yea - it can work... but like the others have said - it depends on the woman. With each day earlier, the odds of an accurate result decrease.

When I did mine I did it early with first morning urine and it came out positive. Everyone is different though..

YES!!
I tested on 9pdo 5 days before my expected af
AND I AM PREGNANT!!!!
