I really want to know if what I eat affect my milk, because Sofia has such horrendous tummy pains when she needs to poo and I'm beginning to wonder if it's something I eat but can't think what. Are there any big offenders? My MW said I could eat anything I want, but then others will tell you avoid garlic, onions etc and I just don't know which is right.

im the exact same hunny, we've started using infacol and she farts like a trooper!! ive just posted about fizzy juice! xx

Garlic can be a problem and I think plums is also a famous one. It might just be colic though and not necessarily what you are eating.

For me it was dairy. The protein in dairyis quite large, so it can be difficult for a new baby tummy to handle. It made Brenn spit up big time. Once I cut it out it helped. You can try to eliminate a few of the big offenders, then add them back in one at a time over a few weeks.

For Hayden it was dairy, he got horrible gas pains but also broke out really bad, he couldn't tolerate it for a really long time, dairy is a really big one for alot of babies though

There are a few that seem to be common. The other one I heard was OJ. For me it was cottage cheese. If you suspect something just cut it out and see how you go.

:D

i was told strawberries can give them tummy ache too?! my friend cut out coffee and onions and that seemed to have a big effect on her bub, could have been a coincidence tho! xx

Well I don't eat dairy anyhow because it gives me problems  but damn, I've been eating plums like they're going out of fashion recently!!
Infacol gave her the runs and gripe water didn't seem to do much. I just bought fennell tea for babies so we'll see if that helps.

all babies are individuals so it depends on the baby but typically a diet rich in calories helps the baby gain weight, caffiene in my diet sometimes made putting the baby to sleep very difficult

:hugs: hope you find what's causing it quickly xxx

Well I treated myself to a packet of Walkers Chilli Sensations the other day and for the next day his poo was dark green and really sticky, so I'm guessing thats what did it

She could just be a bit constipated and thats why she gets tummy ache when she poos

If she's constipated would her poo still be loose? She always has runny or slightly seedy poos.

I gave her the fennel tea last night, she wouldn't take the boob because her tummy hurt so much, so I gave her the tea and she still wouldn't take boob but it calmed her almost instantly and she slept for 4 hours, woke and fed and then slept for 4 hours more :) Yay!

hmm i would of thought it would be more solid if shes constipated

is she bringing up her wind ok?

She does almighty burps, and she's started farting like a trooper recently but still her tummy hurts :( S'not fair, when she's not crying she just looks at me and whimpers. I've taken her to Drs in UK and Switzerland and they all say it's normal. Not very nice for her though!

Right, I gave the fennel tea a go today and oh my, it's a miracle :) It took her 10 mins to go to bed and not a peep yet... must get myself to bed now and take advantage of it! I shall keep well stock up on the tea (which is actually granules rather than tea bags, I'm thinking of just buying the fennel seeds and making it myself).

Ah brill babe I'm so glad

I bought some camomile tea for me to drink, see if Halen will settle better, cause he's just not sleeping :(

also bought some lavendar oil and will add a tiny drop to some base oil and give him baby massage as I borrowed some from my mum's house last night and it worked :D
