I hear lots of women say how they love BF because they get lots of adoring looks from their baby.

I BF my son for almost 19 months and he never looked at me while feeding. He mainly had his eyes closed when he was young, then would just stare into space later lol. I have now been BF my daughter for 2 months and she is exactly the same - eyes closed every time!

Just wondering how many women actually lock eyes with their babies while feeding??

My DD will look up at me, but anytime I meet her eyes, she pulls off and starts smiling at me or "talking" to me. I try to avoid eye contact so she will get a good feed in! When she was smaller she always had her eyes closed also. I fed DD1 over a year and I can't say I remember us making eye contact while feeding either.

It depends on how I hold her. So usually no. But if I'm holding her body more face up then yes she does.

My LO has only just realised her mummy is attached to the boob!! She never once looked at me during feeding until recently, she broke away and looked up at me like "who the hell r u??" then went back to feeding but kept breaking off and giving me that look!! Ha ha! She has done it a few times since too x

If I hold my DD in the cross cradle position in such a way that her face is upwards then she stares at me. I love it and it was one of my motivating factors to breastfeed during the earlier weeks:)

When he was younger he'd eat with his eyes closed, but now he usually only does that when he's night feeding or if he's sleepy.
Sometimes he glances at me, but if we lock eyes too long he'll stop eating to smile at me. Cute, but can be messy lol.
Mostly he just stares at my armpit :haha:

J is too busy playing while she eats LOL. when she nurses on my right side laying down, she will actually get up on all four's and turn her head to stay latched. when we nurse laying down on my left side she picks at my armpit! it we nurse sitting she just tries to escape! but even when she was younger she never gazed adoringly into my eyes LOL

I'm with Cutie4ever01, if I make contact with my LO she smiles & comes off, mostly refusng to go back on so I try not to make eye contact!!!xx

Good to hear my LOs aren't the only ones!!

Mine also don't linger on the boob - they are eat & run every time lol!

same here with the smiling and "talking" if we make eye contact. although i do it on purpose every now and then because i think it's adorable ;)

rylan looks at me some but mainly his eyes are rolling around and closing like he is thinking "oh my gosh these are the best noms ive had in my whole life" almost like its orgasmic to him lol.

My baby always looks me in the eyes, all the way until she falls asleep.
Makes me quite paranoid actually!

Parker glanced up at me for the first time today... then went back to intently studying my shirt sleeve. :haha: When he's not busy looking at my shirt sleeves, he's got his eyes closed or in that opened-but-unfocussed look. :haha:

He has just realised I still have a head when he's having booby! In the morning nurse laying in bed and he keeps popping off to have a look and smile and talk to me. He also likes to talk to my nipple. Lol.
X

most of the time no, but there are the few days where he will look into my eyes, I love it, but it doesn't happen to often, if his eyes are open he is usually looking up and past my arm :)

My little one looks into my eyes, but sometimes she doesn't. When I want to get her attention to reconnect when she's looking away, I just gently rub her head and cheeks, and she usually looks right up at me :)

If I try to look at Bethan whilst she's feeding, she physically moves my head to the other direction; she doesn't like being watched!

LOL! Hard to eat in private when your food is attached to someone else though :haha:
