Not been in this forum before but im getting married Oct 9th this year and i really dnt know where to start ?! Is it too early to start getting things ready - ish now or should i have something sorted etc.. Well main thing is we have the venue !! so thats one thing ticked off.. but as wedding 9 months away i dnt know if and what im meant to be thinking bout ?!

HELP PLEASE :flower: x

Hey hun

First off, congratulations!!! :hugs:

You get married the day before us and so far we have the venue, my dress, my accessories, my fiances suit made and bought, the guest list sorted (but we are having a small wedding with just 40 so we had to be sorted!), the photographer and favours.

We have just started to think about invites and will send some save the dates next month.

xxx

Wow you have alot sorted already !! Arghh i have alot to do lol !! x

Congratulations!
It's never too early to start planning, and besides - it's FUN! :)
A few tips - don't buy too many wedding mags as they all say the same thing, however one is good as they always have a handy check list of things to get/do, and you can scrapbook ideas of pictures for things you'd like to try.
And know that however much you plan some things won't turn out exactly as you'd imagined, but you won't even care at the time! Oh - and the day(s) before are mad rush time, too, even if you plan well! It's the most wonderful time, though, cherish it :) If you want any advice on suppliers or specifically DIY stuff just let me know and I will try my best to help x

Hello!

You and your Wedding have a good website with a checklist of things you need to do/when you need to do them by :hugs:

You should be looking to get the following organised -

- Photographer
- Band
- Wedding cars
- Transport for guests if required
- Invitations and stationary (order of service, seating plan, place settings)
- Decoration for venue
- Florists
- Dress
- Bridesmaids outfits, groomsmen outfits, groom outfits
- Hen and Stag do
- Cake
- Honeymoon
- Guest List

......and thats by no means a comprehensive list! A wedding magazine such as Brides or You and Your Wedding would be a good starting point too xxx

Just write a list of everything an start ticking them off one by one. I'm not getting married until december but everything is done apart from grooms/men suits, sons suit, bridesmaid shoes and buffet for recpetion. I am known for being WAY too organised lol.

Congratultions and good luck :)

Thanks !!

Theres me thinking i only need a couple of months !! LOL how wrong am i ! I have bought a wedding planner book from confetti so will start ticking off from there.

Are the magazines that helpful ? or is the internet just as good ? I dnt wanna go out and buy something that i wont need ?

Personally I haven't used any magazine but I'm sure they are helpful to some people. We have a shop selling magazines that are 1/2 months out of date for £1 in Derby so don't know if you have anything similar to cut costs

Hi again :)
I used the internet A LOT, especially when I'd decided on exactly what I wanted as then I could find similar things to the ideas in my head. However, sometimes magazines can help with that initial inspiration.
My advice would be to go somewhere like WH Smiths which has a good range and see what freebies you can get with each one, then go off that as the content really is the same - you'll only need one :)

I guess it is worth buying a magazine then ! I hope it helps as i am clueless to what exactly i want?! what a great way to start eh ! Well i know the colour scheme, deep red as we are having traditional wedding and indian bless as my OH is half indian. Thats basically all i know about the wedding !! arghhh, im hoping ill get there in the end :D
