Basically after 7 months of no cycle , finally I had an induced withdrawal bleed on the 1st! However my pcos is so horrible ! Been ttc for over 1 year now ! Is there anything that can help with conception ? This is such a long painful roller coaster and I'm getting so depressed ! It's so emotional! Any suggestions ? Many thanks ! Xx

Hi Okailey!

I have pcos since i was 17. i know what it means all the ups and downs, all the side pains hoping to ovulate but then again no period and no positive test.
i get all the pills and weight gain and diets and mood swings. its horrible.

however. i got lucky. i got pregnant without medication. it was plain luck. dont have any other explaination, im sorry. i simply quit my job, moved, had long vacation (2months) then i was pregnant.
i dont know if this helps at all, but it only has to work once.

my baby is still young but we r already trying for nr. 2. so far is not good. i have terrible pains in my ovary and horrible cramps. no period for 5 months now.

Hello
Yes there are things they can do to help you conceive. Clomid and Femara can help and IUI if neither of them help.
I hit jackpot without help for DS but baby2 is being more problematic.
I've never had the willpower to stick to it but a low GI diet may help too.

What is the plan for you after the induced bleed?

Not really any suggestions, but we are all here for support. I am not TTC # 2 just yet but will be in april and i have a fear of secondary infertility because of my PCOS. Baby dust to you hunnie! <3

Thank you all ! And nothing really just don't want to take the medication to induce a bleed incase I do fall pregnant it could flush everything away, yet if I don't take it there's a chance of no cycle and all the other balamy! It's just all so upsetting! I've heard you can buy clomid online yet I don't think I would trust it! Lol, I've heard of herbal things to but everything I buy never works and is a waste of money!xx

Personally I would not buy clomid online. It's a prescription drug for a reason. Buying it online has huge risks you don't know what you are buying or what it will do to you.
I'm assuming you are in the US therefore need to pay for treatment. Can you not get a scan to see if you have ovulated before you take something to start a period.

If you test and dont get a BFP, then go ahead and start the Provera, I had to this month. I am also taking Vitex Berry or Chaste Berry 1000mg every day to help with PCOS and see if it will regulate me, since its amazing with women issues. Many people have great sucess with it.

DONT do online clomid, if you are not careful, it could all go wrong. My doc gave it to me and it overstimulated me and created a giant cyst over 35+cm big.....about as big as a basketball. it had to be surgical removed and they took my left ovary and tube with it. Its nothing to play with. Try the Herbs.....

Hi , I'm in the uk, but it's all so long and over processed over here and I've transferred gp's like 3 times and there all useless! And I'm sorry to hear about your experience! It sounds so horrible !xx

I'm in the UK too. I gave my GP the choice either refer me to a gynecologist for help with PCOS or to a fertility doc for help conceiving GP opted for the latter, I also took DH to the appointment with me united front and he could give her permission to access his records. It also ment if she wanted to arrange a SA before referral she could.
However from the point of referral to getting femara took 11 months. But my area insist on doing loads of tests before doing anything, I can partly see their logic, no point in giving you clomid (and false hope) if you have other issues like blocked tubes or DH low count.

If you can't stand the wait, you could speak to your local fertility clinic but they will also look for a referral letter from your GP.

Keep us posted but that the way to go, go in to the GP together. It worked for me first time and for a friend who'd been getting fobbed off by her GP for years.

Yes. I have PCOS. Badly. I have been TTC#2 for 4 years now. Not only do I have PCOS, I have a clubbed left tube AND a partially blocked right tube. I know how u feel with NOT cycling...just a timeline...

April 2010-got off BC
April 2010-June 2010: Had a period BUT negative OPKs
June 2010-March 2011: No menstruation, NEG OPKs
April 2011-back on BC...very thick lining and hormones OUT OF WHACK..was told I had PCOS
April 2011-September 2011: All about the BC, confirmed PCOS through blood work and US
September 2011: Quit BC, back to TTC
September 2011-November 2011: Had periods, but NEG OPKs
December 2011-June 2012: No menstruation, NEG OPK
June 2012: Period with Provera
July 2012-January 2013: Period ONLY with provera, NEG OPKs
January 2013-August 2013: Clomid...POS OPK, got periods, but no BFP
August 2013-November 2013: TTC with no drugs...no period...NEG OPKs
November 2013: IUI-BFN
December-present: Metformin ER, getting ready to try IVF

Trust me, I know exactly how u feel...out of all the months Ive been TTC, I think I have only technically been on the market for about 9 cycles...the rest of the months i didnt ovulate or anything...still BD'd but didnt help.

My SIL just got pregnant after (she says) a year. But she didnt go to the docs or anything, no OPKs nothing. SHe asked me what she should do since I'm going through problems...I told her to use an OPK...she did and the first month she used it she got her BFP. Shes 14 weeks right now...and i hate her for it. Just not fair!!

Go to ur OBGYN or an RE...get some clomid to get u ovulating!!

JVite I fully understand your frustration. You have been trying for a very long time. SlL asked your advice, you gave her it in good heart and faith, don't hate her because she's lucky it worked for her. Sounds like shes in the "it can take normal couples a year" category and would probably have hit jackpot with or without OPK anyway.
Fingers crossed you get a treatment plan that works soon.

Are you on metformin? I could never handle the side effects, but I know it's a miracle drug for many women. I tried clomid for 6 cycles without success, but it works well for many women with PCOS. There's research that says women with PCOS can be prone to Vit D3 deficiency, and supplementing can help induce ovulation. My levels are low, and I found a brand that worked very well for me. I'm not sure if that is what is doing it for me, but I've been o'ing on my own for a couple years. Unfortunately it hasn't helped me conceive in the 15 months we've been trying, but I've added in inositol and DIM (my gp is also a naturopath) and for the first time ever I had spotting around ovulation, which is supposed to be good. Good luck!
