Well at 10 days over I finally had my little boy Douglas Christopher B.
I spent the whole of the 21st sleeping as didn't feel like facing world. so when it came to bed time I couldn't sleep.
Me and hubby DTD and a few hrs later I started feeling funny, at about 3.30am I was really uncomfy so came down stairs. less then an hr later contractions had really started and really hurt - was so different to last labour which was a back to back labour and all the pain in my back - this was all in my bump.
at 4.30 i realised things were progressing quickly so i rang my mum to come get Parker, and woke the OH half.
started using the tens - not sure how well it helped - but was a good distraction to the pain in my bump. My mum turned up and we headed to the hospital. Got there about 6am and got checked - midwife said i was 4cm but really soft/stretchy and she thought i would have the baby any moment - i was convinced she was lying. until she started faffing trying to get me a bed on L&D all whilst she had another woman in labour as well.
Got in to my room at 6.30am and begged for an epi...they got as far as putting the canuala in - but she messed it up and couldn't use it. Suddenly i started pushing involuntary and she looked down and the head was there, next push and out he came.
so active labour was recorded as 46min. no tears or anything.
was meant to have 6 hr discharge, but they had to put me on the pre natal ward as they had run out beds - and we got forgotten about. So after a lot of complaining we finally got released at 5pm.
Recovery been so much better then last time, Doug is eating pretty much constantly but he let me have a 5 hr sleep - so not feeling to bad.
I feel a bit emotional that was my last birth - so i am trying to make the most of these cuddly few weeks.
Parker doesn't know what to make of him, one moment he gives kisses next he wants to move him outside bless him.
