Ok I don't know if this is different in different countries, but if the nuchal fold result is high and then u go on to have more tests- I thought u would need to have an amnio? Like have the big needle go into your tummy? I know someone who's baby's nuchal fold was big and needed further tests but she said she just had blood tests for it. No amnio, just bloods that apparently they need to freeze straight after or something. I really didnt think it could be done this way... I'm just curious...

there are three measurements in the original test - bloods, ultrasound and age. The results are based on all three combined, not separate. After that if the chances are still high, your friend would be offered an amnio.

aah i see, so if her blood work came back high she would be offered the amnio? Prob wouldve been just as easy to ask her but i didnt think about it till after i saw her and I havn't seen her since lol.
Thanks hun :hugs: x

In my area we are offered the blood test for downs around 16wks.

That gives you a rating 1:... and based on that you might be offered an amnio.:flower:
