Ok, My lo was on comfort milk in CTN then we discovered Dr Browns and HV advised going back to normal cow and gate. Well we decided she was happier on comfort so moved her back. She couldn't get the thicker milk out of a size 3 teat so ordered the y-cut ones. The problem is that the milk comes out way to fast and this afternoon she gave up on her feed because it was frustrating her and making her choke.

Any advice on thicker milks and Dr Browns? We love Dr Brown bottles and don't want to give up on them but y-cut is to fast and she can't get the milk out on 3! making a very unhappy little girl!

I'm sure I read somewhere that Avent teats fit Dr Brown bottles... I know that the instructions say not to use other teats, as the positive pressure system means the milk could flow too fast, but if you're already having that problem with the Y-cut teats anyway...

I wonder if the size 3 Avent teats might let it through ok? Maybe someone who uses Avent bottles could confirm.

Sorry, I appreciate it's not a great suggestion, but it's all I can think of  I hope you manage to find something that works :hugs:

There's a level 4 teat as well hun.

Hadn't thought of using advent - i'll pop to town and get a couple in the meantime i have ordered some number 4s! i think i will be a dr brown stockist by the time we have cracked it!

Thanks ladies

We used Avent stage 3 teats with comfort milk and Dr. Brown bottles.
You do have to screw the lids on quite tightly to stop any leaks but the milk came out fine for us!
