Dropped temperatures in 2ww

Hi Ladies.

I wonder if anyone can offer me any advice / hope here please?

I am 10DPO and since 9DPO, my temps have started to drop - this morning it was only 0.1 degree above the coverline. They had been nice and high until 9DPO. Does this mean there is no way I have conceived?

To be honest I have no symptoms whatsoever and so I think I'm out but the wondering is doing my head in!

Come on ladies, I am so desperate to know if my lower temps rule me out for this cycle or not? Anyone thought they were out due to temps and then get a BFP?

Hiya Hun...

It really depends on when AF is due for you really, I usually find that my temp starts to drop about 2 days before my period is due....good luck

I fnd my temps start to drop around 2 days before AF due. How long is yourluteal phase usually?

Thanks ladies. I don't know when af should arrive as I'm on my 2nd cycle with clomid and I didn't o on the 1st one, resulting in a 41 day cycle! This time I know I o'd on CD13 and so I am kind of expecting a much shorter cycle. Without clomid, my cycles are 32-35 days...

Hi. I had very broken sleep last night and eventually took my temp around 5am (I usually take it at 6am) but I didn't think I'd be able to get back to sleep. It was still just 0.2 degrees above cover line.

I then did manage to get back to sleep for an hour and took it again at 6am, when it had risen to 0.4 degrees above cover line.

I probably shouldn't have taken it again, I was just curious. I still have no symptoms yet for reasons I can't explain I just p'd oas?! Naturally, it was BFN. Why did I bother?!

When are you due to start IVF? X

Thanks Dream. I just posted in 'our thread' too! I hope you are right but at the same time, in my heart of hearts, I strongly feel we are out this month. I really think I would have had some sign by now if we had conceived.

Even after a BFN though, I suppose I will still harbour a tiny glimmer of hope - I wish I didn't, I wish there were less grey areas in TTC.

Don't give up hope yet.. my temperatures have been so low this month, they dipped below the coverline around 5dpo and barely made it back above it but I've just had my BFP today at 10dpo so temperatures aren't always right!!

I think the end of the 2ww is the worst!! I hate that time but AF always comes no matter how much I convince myself that it is "my" month!

I really hope its positive for you and will keep my fingers crossed for you. We start IVF at the end of the month so im trying to be positive and believe we will get a BFP before christmas xx

Ommigod Daisy! That's amazing!!! Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for sharing. You are the 1st person who has told me they got a BFP after their temps dropped. I'm so pleased for you; how did you find out and how did you tell OH / DH? X

Could it have been an implantation dip? I had quite a temp drop on 7 or 8 DPO, I can't remember exactly which. Then I got my BFP at 10DPO! I would say that you still have a shot this month - your low temp at 9DPO could have been an implantation dip, and the low-ish one today is most likely from your wonky sleep last night. See what the temp is tomorrow, but in the meantime, don't give up!

I did a normal early pregnancy test to get my result and yes, I've told DH and the family.. I had a scare this morning though when even though I still have positive tests, my temperature dropped even lower, I was so convinced I was going to lose it I called the doctor and she pointed out that I have a cold so could well be sleeping with my mouth open which she says would lower my temperature!!

So is it possible that you could be doing the same?? My temperature drop definately coincide with when I first got my cold!!
