This is probably a really stupid question but how do you go about drying bottles which have been sterilised in cold water? I've just been shaking off the excess water and then making up the empty bottles and storing them in the cupboard. Aisling only has one bottle of expressed breast milk each day though and I'm concerned bacteria will breed if the bottles aren't completely dry when they're made up but if you introduce a dishcloth to them do you not undo the sterilising effect??

Sorry, I'm very confused by the whole thing! :dohh:

I wouldn't dry them hun, just carry on doing as you are.

To be honest, I usually take them out of the cold water steraliser, rinse them off and then fill them with the boiled water straight away. I gave up drying them - didn't see the point, and felt that they were probably better made up with the lids screwed on as soon as possible than left out drying.

I don't dry them either, just shake the water off as my HV said that you will possibly introduce bacteria into them if you dry them with a tea towel etc.

You don't need to dry them hun, just do as you have been. If you dry them with a cloth then you will make them un-sterile again, same if you rinse them. I keep mine in the steriliser until I need them as it keeps them sterile for 24hrs.

I don't dry mine, just shake the water off.

yeah i definately wouldn't dry or sterilise them, that would make them no longer sterilised! im the same as mrs shine, i leave them in the steriliser until im ready to make them up x

Yep, I leave them in the steriliser until i need them, then just shake off the excess
The only thing i dry is the powder dispensers, co i you dont the formula cloggs, but i do this with kitchen roll, so its disposable if you see what i mean

I do the same or use a freshly washed tea towel I never use one thats been used and left to dry.

Thanks ladies, you've put my mind at ease! :)
