I've started to look him in the eye and say 'No' when he spits his food out and everytime I do it he goes into fits of giggles (proper belly laughs)! Oh well at least I tried!

yep my LO is the same. she was rubbing toast into her hair earlier and found it hilarous that iw as saying no. I found that when i ignored it and just carried on with things as normal then she stopped....

so hard to know what to do at this young age isnt it!

Yup, Arf finds "No" hilarious and "stop it" gets a roar of laughter. I was gonna make a thread about this actually and ask, how do you discipline them and get the word no across effectively?

Yep, Harriets the same.

You say no and she things is so funny or usually ignores it.

I think its because we say no and she ignores us so we then have to go and move her from what she was doing. Now we give her lots of attention and usually she does not want it but i think shes doing a little bit of attention seeking.

poppy has just started to learn what no means! wen i say it in a low firm voice she starts shouting, whereas she wud have laughed at me up to about a week ago!

Brian is the same, no gets alot of giggles so I tried mummys angry face and iv never seen him roll around and laugh so much the little monkey ;)

I did used to give a loud clap to get his attention when he was doing somthing wrong and it seemed t work for ages untill he learnt to clap as well and just thought I was playing with him.

The other day though I said no to him in a firm voice and he just looked at me and the bottom lip started to quiver so I scooped him up giving him cuddles, im such a soft touch and so wraped around his finger :)

No gets fits of giggles here too.
I just keep reinforcing the word. I say "no hitting/biting/etc", and then get him to stop the action (holding his hand from hitting, etc). He laughs and does it again. But after a few times of me moving his hand, he realizes it's not a game, and stops. Hopefully it won't take too much longer before he understands the word no.

we dont have giggles (she just doesnt laugh yet ) but even when I say no she just carries on doing whatever, I think she's still probably too young? x
