So basically since before I found out I was pregnant probably at about 4 or 5 weeks pregnant ive been getting earache on and off. It lasts for about two or three days but not constantly like just every so often throughout the day I will get a sharp pain in one ear or the other just like an earache tbh and then after the few days it will go for a few weeks or so then randomly come back?!

I don't ever remember this happening last pregnancy but tbh last pregnancy I didn't have many pregnancy symptoms compared to this time round where I have been getting all the weird and "wonderful" symptoms in the world! :dohh: :haha: Just wondering if anyone else has had this? And is there any way of helping it a bit?

P.s before I knew I was pregnant and it started I actually did go to the doctors but my ear looked perfectly healthy so that was that and I was send on my way :haha:

It could be that you've had an ear infection which has left scarring and is taking its time to heal.
Or possibly that you're congested more than usual which is common in pregnancy, your ears and sinuses are all linked up so this could be causing it.
I don't think ear ache is a direct result of being pregnant though.
I've suffered with ear ache for months on end all my life, it sucks big time! I feel your pain. Hope you get better soon 😣😫

Unfortunately I don't think there's much you can take to help apart from paracetamol :(

You could try a few drops of olive oil in each ear, but it doesn't always help. I'm sorry you are going through this. Like pp, I've suffered ear aches my whole life. They suck, that's for sure. I don't think it's pregnancy related though. Sorry.

I've had one ear blocked on and off through this pregnancy because my sinus congestion has been so bad. I haven't had any pain with it though. Maybe if your sinuses are congested that found be contributing to it?

A lot of women have ear and jaw aches during pregnancy because of the congestion from their nasal passages. It's been dogging me on and off the whole time. I think it's connected to the sniffles we get.

Thanks for all the replies ladies , makes a lot of sense what yous are all saying as I have had a blocked nose for so long now I can't remember when it blinking started :dohh: :haha:

Totally unrelated to pregnancy but still could be relevent - I had ear pain for years. Years and years and years. Sometimes it wasn't so bad and other times it hurt pretty darn bad, but mostly it was just a dull ach. Everytime my Dr. checked it out he said it was fine, everytime the Ear Nose and Throat specialist checked it out he said it was fine.... got to the point where I was like "huh, just an achy ear I suppose" --- then I got my top wisdom tooth out on that side and BAM! No more ear ach! How are your teeth? (oh and BTW, my ear hurt long before my wisdom tooth started hurting)

Crazy how something you wouldn't link to something is the culprit. Unfortunately for me, my wisdom teeth were pulled long ago so that's not my issue...but glad yours got resolved!

My wisdom teeth have actually just started coming through when Kian was at the teething stage (sympathy pains :haha: ) but they have been taking a hell of a long time! They are all coming through at the same time too like one will grow a tiny bit and hurt like a b*tch for a week or so then it will go away for months and the other one will start. I do really need to get them pulled though as I already have an overcrowded mouth and they feel like try are all almoast all the way through now so maybe that could be it too? Really don't know how I feel about the thought of getting teeth pulled when I am pregnant though :shrugs: to be honnest it's something I don't think they would do anyways! I will definetly have to get it sorted out though asap after I have this little one!

Well, if you want to do it with just novacain at the sight... they will do it - but I do not suggest that! LOL But I am a crazy big baby. I had to get one of my wisdom teeth and an extra little baby tooth that was next to my wisdom tooth (stupid mouth, not enough room for all the regular teeth and its gotta grow an extra one) pulled with just novacain and it was freaking horroble. But I am a big baby, so maybe it was just me? I would wait though, if you don't have crazy pain, then wait until you can be put in a twilight sleep or something. Just my two cents! :)

^ :haha: I'm a mahoosive baby when it comes to pain too! :haha: I'm still shocked that I actually managed to get through giving birth without complaining once ... I did cry for a good ten minutes though... :haha: but the gas and air soon had me high as a kite and I actually was laughing like a wee drunk teenager throughout my labour after I got my hands on that sweet sweet gas and air! :haha: so I think that I will most definitely wait till afterwards when I can have all the drugs they can give me! :haha:
