early pregnancy scan in the morning

hi everyone...
i have previously had to misscariges one at just over 5 wks and one in dec 09 a mmc at 13 wks, i have been feeling very anxious to say the least with this pregnancy so my doc has referred me to my local early pregnancy unit for an early scan 2moro..i will be 5 wks 2 days.. and im terrified
i dont kno how id cope if it has all gone wrong again.
and im worried with the scan being so early i wont be able to see alot or get much reassurance?
has n e one else had a scan this early?? if so what was the outcome?
im 5 weeks 1 day by my lmp..but have been trackin ov with clearblue digital ov test and only oved 6/7 june so not actually 5 weeks gestation!!

You know it's early so if they can't see much they will book you in for a weeks time.

There are no magic words to stop you worrying - wish there were!! but take it one step at a time - see what the scan brings - if they can't see anything would they be prepared to do quantative hcg tests to reassure you that the hcg is going in the right direction? - there are lots of ladies who have seen nothing and then a week later seen the heartbeat so it does happen

hey hun just seen this just to let u know as your so early they will more thsn likely do sn internal scan xx hope all goes well and try not to panik if u dnt see much they will call u bk in to have anither scsn in s week or so to confirm viability if they dnt see a hb as its very early its quite normal to noit see a hb untill 6 weeeks somketimes later xx

(((Hug))) to you! It's very early to see anything even with an internal u/s at 5 weeks, which means they might totally be able to see the sac -or not! or even the fetal pole - or not! Please try not to worry too much, at this early stage even a day miscalculation can have the result of not seeing anything on the u/s but that won't mean there's anything wrong!! Hopefully they'll be able to see a sac atleast to confirm the uterine pregnancy and probably they'll have you back in a week or two to check for the heartbeat. I hope it goes well. I had an early internal scan yesterday at 6+2. We could see the gestational sac and the yolk sac. Of course I am worried because we didn't see a fetal pole or heart beat. But lots of ladies have reminded me that it is early and my dates could be slightly off. Even though I did an ovulation test, who knows how long egg and sperm took to meet and then how long the little love bug took to implant. If you don't get the results you were hoping for, ask for another scan in a week.

Good Luck tomorrow just bear in mind like the others said as its so early they might not see very much... they can probably tell if the babe has implanted and see the yolk sac, but probably not much else just yet.

At my EPU they check hcg levels and will only scan once they're over 2000. Apparently that's the point at which you should be able to see something on an internal scan, and is a better indicator than relying on dates at this early stage, when being a day or so out could make a big difference - that's what they told me anyway!

thanks for all your support girls...my app when ok..had an internal scan but as suspected baby was far to small to see n e thing much but i was reassured bubs was in the right place as the sonographer said she could see the baby beginning to develop the also took bloods to check hcg levels and they were 969..not to sure what that means but from what ive read online its normal...im off bk to the epu today to check if theyve doubled or not..as you can imagine im very nervous as if they havent it could mean im going to miscarry again..so an awful lot rides on the results of today!!!

hey girls...
i finally got my phone call last night..and my levels are risisng properly
the lady who called said the epu would call me today to arrange another scan sooooo happy

just another question...by my lmp im 6 wks 2day but i dont have 28 day cycle...i was using ov tests and didnt ov till cd 19/20 (i got my lh on both these days) so i think that makes me 5 + 2 ?? am i right?? lol im a lil confused!!!

Julie Im so glad your hcg levels are ok.

By my lmp I am 8 weeks today but I have a 35 day cycle so I took a week off leaving me 7 weeks today. I think this is the right way to do it. I have a scan next week which will tell me if I'm right or wrong.

thanks for all your lovely messages...i have got another scan booked for friday to check buba is growing...my levels wwent from 969 to 5014!!! that more than quadrupled!! maybe twins ?!!
