Alfie is currently on one bowl of baby porridge a day in addition to his milk feeds.

From 17 weeks I want to start introducing other foods as he is a very big hungry boy!

Anyway I have my hubby home for 2 weeks at the moment and so it seems sensible for me to get some new foods ready whilst I can hand over the little monster for an hour or so!

So I need some suggestions for early weaning foods that I can get ready now and then pop in ice cube trays and freeze till i am ready to use them in a few weeks time.

Has anyone tried freezing things like pureed fruits and mashed potato?

What freezes well and what doesn't?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hi
I think pretty much everything can be frozen other than banana and avocado. Not sure about mashed spuds...Good foods to start with are carrot, sweet potato, parsnip, BNS. All those are freezable as well as apples/pears.

Good luck :)

mashed potato does freeze but it's quite hard to get out the tray. we've managed to freeze everything apart from banana. apricot freezes well it's just sticky. broccoli freezes but it looks gross!
