Anyone have experience of this? I talking about 4months plus weaning as LOs reflux is really awful, but he has cows milk protein intolerance so Im wary of that also. I think I need to ask to see a paed dietician as the docs etc dont really seem to know alot about this?

We tried to wean early at week 20 due to reflux but it didnt help. Baby rice helped a little but it wasnt a real cure. He used to throw up all puree & he went off milk & dropped to less than 12 oz in 24 hours so we had to stop after 2 weeks & started again when he was ready at 6.5 months.

I would talk to your DR/HV about it before making any decisions. It's a more common practice in Canada because doctors are more reluctant here to prescribe reflux medication.

You could PM Aliss if you want, she gave her LO a bit of Banana each day at a quite young age, and I believe it helped her reflux a lot. I'm sure she could give you some more info.

TBH with a CMPI I'd be very wary of weaning early as CMPI is a sign of digestive issues/disorders and weaning could actually exacerbate an immature tummy iykwim?

We did consider it but with LO's issues we have stuck to 6 months more or less ... some early pear but thats with her meds. For us solids haven't made any difference to her reflux at all!

Mine also was the same (not silent though). I gave him a little dab of banana on my finger from 15+ weeks (about 1tbsp a day's worth) and it did help.

I dont think its the same thing but my LO started getting terrible green diarrhea multiple times through the day and night even though she was BF as normal. She even started losing weight because of it. Turned out that she was teething and swallowing all the saliva instead of dribbling it (we never saw even a speck of drool!) and all the extra acid was upsetting her tummy badly. Starting her on solids instantly fixed the problem by giving the extra acid something to work on, iyswim.

I'm sorry if that doesn't help, I just didn't want to r&r :)
