Easier way of doing night feeds?

LO is in with us still but she's rapidly outgrowing her basket so will have to move to her own room. At the moment I get up to warm up her bottles and DH holds her if she's crying properly (she makes a lot of noise before waking properly so I usually have enough time to avoid this but I won't hear this when she's in her own room). Is there a quicker way of warming or preparing feeds so both of us aren't being disturbed during the night? I know microwaving bottles isn't recommended but, in reality, is it ok? 5 minutes to warm a bottle seems like an eternity when she's crying!

Maybe try a ready made carton? They are much quicker to warm than a bottle from the fridge. Your lo might even drink it at room temp without needing to warm it.

We use the microwave for LO's bottles. Make sure you give it a very good shake/swirl to get rid of any hotspots. I'd do it in 10 sec increments at first till you figure out how long it needs :)

I take a flask of boiling water up to bed, AND a bottle or 2 of cooled boiled water. when the time comes, i put 3 oz of the hot water into a bottle, dissolve the powder, then add to the required level (or just above if its 5oz or more to compensate for the pile of powder) with the cold water.....instant bottles!! no need to leave yr bed.....other than getting baby ;-)

i use the microwave i take the teat off and put it in for 30 seconds and shake it really well if its to hot i put it in cold water for a bit and if its too cold (which is very rare) i put inin for another 10 secs. i dont see anything wrong with it if you shake it well and make sure its well mixed.

KAcey has 8oz bottles. What we do is make them in advance by putting 8oz of powder with 5oz of water and out it in fridge. then when she is ready for feed we boil kettle and add further 3 oz and bottle is perfect temperture

We use the microwave. As long as you give it a thorough shake and check the temperature each time there is no problem.

If your LO will take room temperature bottles it is SUPER easy! I just bring a bottle with 5 ozs of water up and 5 ozs of formula in a formula dispenser, put in on his dresser. Then when he fusses I go in his room, add the formula... shake and we are good to go!

I am wondering this too and have a plan ! The tomee tipee bottle warmer is also a flask which apparently keeps the water hot for 6 hours... So I am going to boil the kettle let it cool to the temperature that is required and put in the flask- bring upstairs with the powder seperately and mix up when needed

I hope this works

During the night I either used the instant formulas which were really handy and he took them at room temp for ages (then got fussier!)

If I didn't have any instants I would boil the water and leave it to cool for 1/2 an hour and then put it in a flask. Then I would make up the bottle and put the bottle in a jug of cooled water from the fridge with some ice-cubes.

The instants were way easier though!

Earl likes his bottles cold, so from about 3 months I would take his freshly made bottle up to bed with me, fill his top and tail bowl with cold water and place it in there to cool. About 10 mins after I had done that I would replace the water (that had warmed during the cooling process) with fresh cold water, and leave it until he needed it. This did 2 things, kept it at perfect temp for Earl, and kept it cold for storage. If he required it warming I would run it under the hot tap or replace the cold water with hot tap water for 1 minute to tkae the edge off. (Thank the lord for my weirdo child who likes it cold! lol)

Prior to this I had a Lindam Day and Night system, and I would put bottles in the coooler unit to store *Basically a cool box with an icepack* and then place them in the warmer for 2 minutes precisely to warm them up.
