Hi all,
Had our appointment yest with Mr al taher at the bowthorpe clinic.

He went through. the questionnaire and then suggested i had some additional tests there and then rather than us coming back again.

I was very impressed. Anyone else local going through this?

I would have preferred to be put forward for IUI but they dont do this now...

I haven't been to one but think there is some in Cambridge...goodluck FX for you! I used to live in England....Google it darling I'm sure you'll find something or someone to help you!

I am seeing him too. I had me first appointment back in April and then had a HSG - both tubes blocked so had a lap and dye in August where both tubes were unblocked I have my next appointment in kings Lynn on Tuesday.

I have two beautiful girls 15 and 6 and have been trying for this one for since our little one was born 6 years ago with one MC in December 2008.

Whats next for you and what tests did he do then xx

Hi there,

Did you think he was nice? I thought he seemed a really nice, understanding, sensetive man, the nurse was nice as well. Made me feel better about having an HIV test (I've only had one partner who is my husband) she said they so it also so you know that your eggs/sperm are in a save environment.

He checked my cervix, and did an ultasound and measured my ovaries, and womb.

He gave us all the forms for the next tests.

They need to do another day 2-4 blood test for me, and my husband another SA. They think IVF is the only way to go for us. I am struggling with this because I don't know whether I feel it is ethical or not :-/

Lucky you, having two daughters. This is our first one, and we have been trying for 18 months. Did you know you had tubes blocked or has that just happened recently?

HopeTuesday goes well, let me know how you get on x

Hi anniehope, we recently saw Mr Al-Taher and he sent us to Lynn Fertility Centre to the female fertility nurse for these checks. I'm confused why he chose to check you internally 'there and then'? Did you happen to notice his personal number plate on his Silver Mercedes '121 GYN'? We are weary of his honourability.

Hi ladies,

How long did it take you to get to see the fertility specialists once you were reffered? Im in norfolk and should be getting referred on monday to Kings Lynn, but have no idea how long I am going to have to wait.

Hi, we are now undergoing our 2nd IVF cycle by ICSI andcurrently 8 DPT. We are having the kings Lynn transport system linked with Bourn Hall who are equally excellent. Both Mr Taheer and Mr Sharma are fantastic doctors and the fertility nurses there are great Judith is especially empathetic and everytime I have phoned with queries during treatment she has been great x

I spoke to Judith at Lynn this week, she was lovely and helpful as after 3 and half weeks they still hadn't received my referral from gp. Its all sorted now and I should receive a date for my appointment letter in the next couple of weeks.

What happens at the first appointment? I have already had bloods etc done, hubby has had sa, I've had lap and dye and already have a diagnosis.

Hey ladies

We've got our first appointment with mr al Taher on 17th. We've had quite a lot of tests done already but I'm sure he'll want more. Does he discuss options for treatment at this meeting if you know what's wrong with you?

Hi, as my wife couldn't conceive naturally we were referred to the King's Lynn Fertility Clinic by Mr Al-Taher through see him at the Bowthorpe Clinic, Norwich.

My wife was referred to Mr S Sharma for a 'Routine Laparoscopy and Dye Test'. This is a VERY invasive procedure to inspect the female fallopian tubes involving both vaginal and lower abdominal investigations under anesthetic.

My wife was concerned for her modesty during this procedure and was assured that a lady nurse would be with her throughout her procedure, however, after our investigation, it seems that the nurse was told to keep out of operating theatre and the intimate procedure was conducted by a team 5 men with no female present!

During my wife's infertility investigation, one of the men from the team of 5 exited the operating theatre and came onto the ward gyrating his hips at the female nurses at the nurse station!?

I saw this and it alarmed me into doing the investigation into their procedures.

The case continues...

I would recommend anyone requiring IVF that has issues with modesty / male doctor to female patient intimate examinations to go direct to Bourn Hall and avoid King's Lynn. As it seems they aren't to concerned about how couples are left feeling.
