You'll need:
1 tin of tomatoes,
1-2 whole cloves of garlic, peeled,
2-3 table spoons of olive oil,
4-5 basil leaves (optional) or half a tea spoon of dried origano.
In a small saucepan, add the oil, tin of tomatoes and whole garlic cloves. cover and leave to simmer on a low heat for approx. 30 mins. Stir it every 10 mins. The tomatoes should reduce, giving a really thick sauce. Add a a table spoon or 2 of hot water for a thinner sauce. Remove the whole cloves and put aside. Finally add your chosen herbs.
As well as being tasty, this is a cheap-as-chips sauce!
