Ok I know I am probably over reacting but.. Tonight I decided to cook lamb cutlets for dinner. I cooked them how I always do and they tasted great. I cooked two and it wasn't until I was almost finished the second one I noticed it was quite pink in the middle! When k looked at the bone the first must have been quite rare too!

I am usually so careful, and this is the first time I've slipped up! I am
Not worried about food poisoning because I am sure the meat was fresh, but I've been reading about toxoplasmosis and am really freaking out! I'm scared I am going to contract something that may cause birth defects etc or may not be picked up until after birth and can cause blindness and deafness and whole host of other problems! All of which we might not
Know about until birth!

Am I being silly? Please tell me I am and that it will be fine lol. I will never ever make this mistake again! I'm scared straight!

I didn't want to R&R, I can't give any advice apart from try not to stress as that is no good, all the best x

Give your doc a call to see if you should be worried. I didn't want to R&R but I truely have no idea! I think you will be OK! GL!

No need to worry! As long as the all the outside surfaces of the lamb were cooked you should be fine. Toxoplasmosis comes from contamination on the outside. You could even have rare steaks as long as you cook it properly on the outside...

This is what the NHS website says:

Raw or undercooked meat

Cook all meat and poultry thoroughly so that there's no trace of pink or blood. Take particular care with poultry, pork, sausages and minced meat, including burgers. It is fine to eat whole cuts of beef and lamb such as steaks, cutlets and joints (but not rolled joints) rare, as long as the outside has been properly cooked.

Thank you so much petitpas! You've made me feel heaps better about it!

Thanks for the info and support

Xoxo
